Ok guys seriously, we don't understand why this guy is still in the shelter system. You have all met Brother before. He is a 6 year old German Short Hair pointer. He is a great guy, very high energy, he likes to play with dogs, but will chase cats. He needs room to run, and a home that will challenge his brain. I am told her loves to snuggle and one of his favorite things to do is lay under the covers on the bed and snuggle. We know his family is out there looking for him, if that is you please reach out to us. If you are interested in adoption please email [email protected] for obtain an applicaiton.

Miss. Annabelle is ready and waiting to find that forever home. Not long ago she was dumped as a stray in Columbia County. Left to fend for herself, she found her way to Columbia County Animal Control. They asked us for help with her and we happened to have a spot open. This week girl is approximatley 9 months to a year old. She is kind of shy, learning to walk on a leash and will be a great addition to a family that is looking for a giant puppy. We are still learning about her abilities with other dogs and cats. We have no idea how she is with kids. This girl is going to be a very large girl. She will need room to run and a place to call her own.

If you are interested in meeting her we ask that you please email [email protected] we will happy to send you an application.

Don’t “assume” that someone you trust and love will take care for your precious pet if something happens to you. Make firm arrangements, so they do not end up alone in a shelter or worse…

Lets start this week out right. Everyone meet Amy, this lovely not so little lady is about 8-10 months old, weighing in already at right around 100lbs. This girl is one of the newest additions to the CHS family. She is going to need someone who understands her and is willing to spend the time training her. She is a little shy for about 60 seconds and then she will be your bestfriend. So far she gets along with other dogs. This kiddo is going to need room to run and play. She won't be an apartment dog at all. We have no idea how she is going to do with cats. Due to her size and her inability to realize that she is as big as she is, we would not suggest putting her in a home with kids that are under 12 years old.

If you are interested in adopting this wonderful girl we ask that you please email [email protected] in order to obtain an application. Once you have an approved application on file we will then schedule a time for you to come and meet her. Her adoption fee is $350.00 that will include her being spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, treated for fleas and treated for worms.

With so many dogs running at large for a variety of reasons, we wanted to provide a quick and easy guide to help those of you who may find a dog in our community. We greatly appreciate your support and assistance with found dogs. If you have found a dog please refer to this guide. If you don't see an answer to your question, contact us!

Mutt Monday: Meet Jake the newest member of the CHS family. This guys is about 7 months old and weighs in right around 20lbs. He doesn't seem to mind other dogs, but has no prior experience with cats. Right now he is a little shy and just doesn't understand why he has to be here. He has lived with kids previously and did well. He is potty trained and uses potty pads, but will also alert to needing to go outside.

If you are interested in meeting him please email [email protected] in order to obtain an application. Once we have an approved application on file we will then schedule a time for you to come and meet him. His adoption fee is $350.00. That will cover his neuter, is vaccinations, his chip, being treated for fleas and for worms.
