Westchester County residents, please contact your county representative and let them know that you want a strong tether law that does the following:
• A limit of 1 hour of tethering within a 12 hour period (similar to the current law in Suffolk County, NY)
• Responsible party be on the premises at time of tethering (similar to the Port Chester law and many other municipal laws, including: Miami, Fl, Austin TX, Gwinnett County, GA)
• In addition to no tethering during weather alerts, dogs should not be tethered if the weather creates discomfort for the dog. If a dog, for example, is shivering in the cold, or excessively panting in the heat, outdoor tethering should not be permitted under those conditions even if there is no official weather alert.

Dogs in Ossining (and most Westchester municipalities) can be tied up outside 24/7 -- and it's LEGAL! Let Ossining lawmakers know that you support a Tether Law that limits the amount of time a dog can be Tethered outside and that no dog should be left outside unattended with nobody home.

https://www.lohud.com/story/news/local/2018/05/21/dog-tether-laws-around-new-york-state/599431002/

There is no statewide restriction on tying up dogs outside, but New York state's animal cruelty statute does define appropriate shelter for a dog.

BOOM: NY's VILLAGE OF DUNDEE JUST PASSED A LAW BANNING PUPPY MILLS!

You're hearing it first here because I'm on top of the Puppy Mill news like no one's business.

On April 10, 2018, the Village of Dundee in upstate New York banned any kennel with more than 4 dogs from operating there (see the law uploaded as pictures in my album "Dundee" on this page)

This law is in response to my November, 2017 investigation of upstate New York's puppy mills where I exposed a convicted animal abuser who applied to open a 500 dog Puppy Mill. He lost his application and NY state license to operate a "kennel".

Now, other Upstate NY towns are investigating the Puppy Mill issue as it was a big secret, and laws against them are starting. I'm on it!

I'm starting a revolution in upstate New York --bye bye Puppy Mills. NO SOUL SUFFERS!

GOOD NEWS! The Montgomery County Council, in Maryland, has unanimously voted to prohibit the exhibition of traveling wild animal acts! Council members noted the bill responds to community concerns and a changing society that no longer accepts animal suffering for the sake of ‘entertainment.’ ADI submitted supporting evidence to the council and congratulates local advocates who worked to make this happen in Maryland!

More than 80 local US jurisdictions have now turned away from cruel and dangerous wild animal acts. Support TEAPSPA (the Traveling Exotic Animal and Public Safety Protection Act/H.R. 1759), to ban them across the US: http://bit.ly/SupportTEAPSPA

Today the New Jersey state Assembly Appropriations Committee voted unanimously to pass Nosey’s Law (A4386/S2508), a bill to ban wild animal circus acts, out of committee. The bill passed the NJ Senate last year as S2508 (sponsored by Senator Raymond J. Lesniak), to ban circus elephant acts. After meeting with ADI, Assembly sponsor Rep Raj Mukherji agreed to amend the bill to protect all wild animals suffering in circuses. Many thanks to the sponsors, for all their work on this.

Nosey’s Law (A4386/S2508) now moves to the full Assembly for a vote January 4th, and then to the Senate January 8th (to concur on the amendment). If you live in NJ, call your legislators today, and stay tuned for ADI’s week of action January 1-5, to support Nosey’s Law A4386/S2508, as amended to ban all wild animal circus acts. Find your legislators here: http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/members/legsearch.asp

Wherever you live in the US, please support TEAPSPA, to end traveling wild animal acts nationwide: http://bit.ly/SupportTEAPSPA

Which state will be next?

I TOLD YOU THIS WOULD HAPPEN!!!!
A MONUMENTAL VICTORY!!!!
California AB 485 just passed the Senate 32-0!!

California is the first state in the USA to require that all dogs, cats and rabbits sold in stores statewide must come from rescue organizations, not commercial breeding facilities (puppy mills).

Be sure to notice "32-0" in the photo!!!

Harley says: "We're crying tears of joy right now!! THANK YOU to everyone who worked so hard to make this bill pass!"

was one of the very important contributors in supporting this Bill by providing an informative letter to the legislature about the horrors of Puppy Mills and why this Bill needed to pass! GOOD JOB!

to

Of course, now we await Gov Jerry Brown to sign it into law.
I predict that will happen too.

The USDA is seeking public comments about its plan to change licensing rules for animal facilities. The current rules make it ridiculously easy for facilities that violate the Animal Welfare Act (such as puppy and kitten mills) to get their operating licenses renewed. Please help animals and let the USDA know about opposition to animal abusers getting their USDA licenses so easily renewed. Use the public comment page: https://www.regulations.gov/document?D=APHIS-2017-0062-0001
