Bella and Gia with The Kinetic K9: Dog Training & Rehabilitation took a stroll at a beautiful park in Amsterdam and a stroll around Loweโ€™s. Training involves taking the dogs off site in the real world. Sheโ€™s solid!

The next few days will be more practice and sheโ€™s ready to go home ๐Ÿ

Amber Barry and I can share space, without tension or the need to make small talk. We listen without adding a โ€œyeah butโ€ or โ€œyou shouldโ€ or โ€œI wouldnโ€™tโ€ - making sharing training ideas, even if different points of view, open and comfortable.

Trust.

We sit on opposite ends of the Center while we place our dogs for some neutrality work,,, while we are also neutral.

Dogs and humans at-ease. Simplicity.

The take away? Less is More.

All are no longer options. Theyโ€™re like old cars. They need to be stripped and rebuilt from the bottom up.

Bella arrived yesterday. She is a 9 month old (yeah sheโ€™s a BIG girl) English Labrador Retriever. We will be working on cleaning up just nuisance behaviors and giving her more freedom with reliable obedience. We begin working today.

A reliable recall is super important! She has acres of land at home and most enjoys splashing around in a pond. Then all โ€œlisteningโ€ ability is non existent.

Armed with a bottle of advil, Iโ€™m ready for this big beauty!

Sharkey has enjoyed a lot of off leash hikes, walks and playtime. His recall is spot on. Now, he can enjoy the freedom dogs want.

A beautiful day at the Crossings! All the dogs did amazing. Lots of dogs and humans. Sharkey needed some state of mind refining. Always remember to catch dogs at the loading stage before they break command. This requires the handler to really observe every LITTLE sign of over arousal. For Sharkey, itโ€™s the upright ears. Sharkey Day 12 He is really shaping up nicely. A truly FUN dog to work with. Some more off site training and what are odds.. we saw a few dirt bikes! Which sent him Cuckoo For Cocoa puffs! Enjoyed the day with Cinder, Buddy, Hannah and husky Zariya from The Kinetic K9: Dog Training & Rehabilitation. All 5 dogs off leash ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป.
