Look how much Cora (Left) and Sassy (Right)have grown in just 2 1/2 weeks! All I can say is these girls can eat!!! Cora loves attention and is the first one to Run to you for rubs! Sassy is more independent and reserved. She will be our strong willed one. They are learning to take care of our baby ducks and chickens right now and have been doing well bonding with all the animals.

It’s been about a year since Ryan and I went to our bee class. Our hives are going strong and we added our first honey super and should be getting the liquid gold soon. We also saw a huge production in the garden too!

The Bee Place, located in Somerset, TX (210.289.0583 ext 1) is still taking orders for Spring of 2024 Honey Bees, Supplies and Classes. Weekend Pick Up & Class dates are available for a limited time.
We have a basic beekeeping class for folks that are wanting to become Beekeepers and learn more about keeping bees healthy. Our popular Basic Beekeeping Class is included with the purchase of our Apiary Starter Kit, which includes a nucleus colony of gentle VSH Italian bees per-installed.
How it works ... Place an order for the Apiary Starter Kit on our website and you will receive a link to our 2 hour YouTube video series and then have a spot reserved for you in the second half of the class - another 2 hours of hands-on training. This is a session over an active hive that you attend when you come to pick up your bees on the scheduled pick up date you select when ordering your kit. It was a good day on the farm. Milking is getting easier and we are starting to fill the fridge! Maple is our best milk producer. She does best when her kids are by her side. We are loving this experience.

Today: Took Bree on her walk- I could not pass up a photo op in the evening primrose flowers, I wish I could keep this spring weather. Flowers are sticking around a lot longer, and the bees are very active, so we hope that means lots of Honey!!! We also welcomed some baby ducklings and geese to the family. They are really cute.

Deric trying very fresh goat milk for the first time. He does not seam to notice! The Goat milk from the grocery store made him gag! I’m so happy!
