Our last breeding attempt of the season was the beginning of May. We weren’t so sure that any of them took. But nearing the end of May, our doe Rita was looking quite large and her belly quite firm. But her due date came and went so I was starting to get concerned. She surprised us by releasing the hostages sometime early this morning! She’s a first time mom to 10 all black kits!!

It’s been a nerve wracking two days. One of our pregnant does, that is on day 28 of her pregnancy, has had some significant bleeding, and a major decrease in appetite and water intake. Thankfully she is still moving and drinking some. Has eaten some cilantro today too! But she’s not acting like her normal self and all I can do is wait and pray for the best. On a positive note, look at these two cute girls from Chilli’s litter. They are currently 6 weeks old.
Baby bun update. Chilli’s litter of 8. All still here after the first week! Their fur has come in, and their eyes should open in the next few days.
Chilli is such a good first time mama. Two of her kits were looking smaller and more wrinkly than the others, so while she allows, at dawn and dusk(when rabbits nurse their kits), I’ll pull her and the two kits out to allow them to nurse separately, hopefully allowing them to grow like their litter mates!

8 kits, looks like 6 black and 2 chocolate. Mama did amazing for this being her first litter. All snuggled in the nest box, covered in a ton of fur!
Attended our second rabbit show in Shipshewana today! Showed a Senior doe and a Junior doe. Got some wonderful compliments, as well as some helpful critiques! Brought all the kids along for this one.

Came home from a rabbit show to find Chilli, one of my expecting mommas, kindled while we were gone! Will update soon with kit count and pics. She’s doing great for a first time mama!

We are a little family run rabbitry located in SW Michigan. We just got started this year in 4-H and local ARBA shows. Our primary focus right now is Silver Fox rabbits for meat, show and pets. Although we will have a few various rabbit breeds for 4H, we are not breeding any other breed at this time. We fell in love with Silver Foxes for their beautiful pelts, how sweet they are, and honestly, how they provide a tasty meal for our family.
We do our best to breed to the ARBA standard of perfection and strive to raise Silver Foxes worthy of showing, being good brood rabbits for future rabbitries/families, as well as being good for eating.
Temperament and body type are our biggest focus. All of our animals must be able to be handled by all. We do not entertain skiddish or grouchy rabbits.
Rules and agreements from purchasing from Creek & Willow Rabbitry. We will only hold a rabbit if you pay a 50% nonrefundable deposit to us using a few various methods (Venmo, PayPal, etc). Please send under friends and family when sending your deposit to avoid extra fees for all. After a deposit is made to secure your selected rabbit, then we can talk about arrangements and times to pick up your new rabbit. If you would like to use a transport service, you are responsible for finding someone who makes their route through the SW Michigan. The only way you will get the deposit back is if we decline the sale or if something happens to the rabbit. We will only except cash if paying in person; no personal checks. We will frequent various ARBA rabbit shows in the area, when possible, as well.
At any part of the sale process, we have the right to decline the sale. We will NOT sell our babies under the age of 8 weeks. This is to protect them and promote strong healthy immune systems. Once the rabbit leaves our care, we are no longer responsible.

Our very first rabbit show was the Michigan State RBA show today. Showed a sweet doe, Angel, who is new to our rabbitry. Closest we got today was 3rd in the senior doe class. Not too shabby! We had a lot of fun and learned a lot. Couldn’t have done it without such amazing people 💜💜💜
It’s that time of year. Walk in for feed and have the overwhelming desire to walk out with a box of 🐥 🐥 🐥 We don’t have a coop built yet, so husband tells me no. I keep telling him we would have time while they grow to get a coop built. He’s not amused. He may not actually allow me to get chickens until he gets a couple ducks. A sacrifice I’m willing to make. 😂
Everything I was blessed with belongs to the Lord. Our little family rabbitry was created with these verses in mind. When we purchased this home and property, I truly believe that God was answering prayers and the desires of my heart. I am so excited to see what God is going to do! Stay rooted in Jesus, friends 💜
Studying up on Silver Fox genetics! We are eager to see what colors our breeding stock produce! We’ve currently paired up our black buck Telemachus, with our black does, Chili and Rita. Telemachus (black recessive carrier) carries the chocolate gene (Bb) as well as the dilute gene (Dd), meaning he’s a carrier of black, blue, chocolate and lilac. Chili and Rita, it’s unknown if they carry recessive genes yet.
We are excited to see what happens in a little less than a month with our current pairings!
Using the ABCDE genotypes, we can come up with the genotypes for Silver Fox Rabbit colors. All Silver fox rabbits should be aa (self) and EE (full color shaft) aa __ __ __ EE. The Silver Fox color…

Let me introduce you to myself and my family! My name is Tara, my husband’s name is Kyle. Together we are raising 5 spirited children (ages 8 months-14 years). Our little homestead currently has 1 dog, 1 cat and 6 Silver Fox rabbits. In the near future, we hope to raise chickens and ducks!
We live on a quaint piece of property out in the country in SW Michigan. When home searching, I asked God to give us the desires of our heart. And He did just that. I’ve always wanted a piece of land in the country that has a creek and many willow trees. We also have a pond! It’s not a big piece of land, but it sure is beautiful and peaceful. God is so good.

One of my first time mommas is taking hay from the nest box I so thoughtfully provided for her to kindle in, and is making a nest on the wire… 🙄🤦🏼♀️😂 So today I zip tied some cardboard on the wire, and added some pine shavings, and more hay in her nest box, so if she does kindle outside of the box, hopefully it’s in her silly nest.
