Chance needs a home ASAP where he is the only dog! Chance has not had a very good life as he has been an outdoor dog his entire life. He finally got the chance to become an indoor dog and he now wants to get all the love and attention he was never given. Chance does not want to share his people with another dog. Please share!

The Community Foundation supports so many great groups in Scott County. We are so grateful to be one of them!

Scott County Community Foundation board member Jamie Longacre, right, presents a check for $6,267 to Humane Society of Scott County, Indiana volunteer Melanie Foster. The grant was awarded from the Dr. William and Diann Scott Memorial Fund at the Community Foundation and will be used to help with the medical and physical needs of the dogs and cats, as well as offset additional costs of spaying and neutering animals.

The Humane Society was able to help 376 dogs and cats get adopted locally or sent to no-kill rescue partners to find forever homes last year. There are currently 28 cats at the adoption center and 16 dogs in foster homes that are patiently waiting for new homes. Don’t use blankets because they will freeze when wet. If you see a pet in need, contact animal control at 812-752-4380 Monday through Friday from 10a to 4p, leave a message. After hours call dispatch at 812-752-5550. Be their voice, if you see something, say something!!🚨🚨

If you’re looking for a small dog with a big personality, Milo is your guy! He would love a fur sibling to play with and as you can see, a fenced in yard is a must for him! If interested email [email protected]

Roxy, a 3 year old shepherd mix, has came a long way since entering our program. She knows several commands and is eager to learn more. If interested contact [email protected].

This is Jubilee, AKA JuJu, she is currently our longest foster. She has been with us since February. She is housebroken, crate trained, and walks well on a leash. She loves people but is strong so she may be too much for young children. She would do best as an only dog or with a submissive dog because she likes to be the boss. She can climb a chain link fence so she will need a home with a privacy fence or to be taken out on a leash. Help us find Jubilee her furever home! Contact [email protected] or 812-752-7500.
