Milo was so shaggy when he came in and kind of unsure about what to expect. He was such a good boy communicating with his groomer when something was too much or a little scary and did so amazing for his groom! He left feeling confident and Silky! 💫

Waffles was brought to another groomer a week ago and was shaved down because of "excessive matting" and the groom was choppy and different lengths everywhere when mom picked her up from there. She came in today for us to fix it and left looking like a brand new girl!

Shoogie got a shorter cut than usual today! She drools for the groom so it can be a bit difficult to get her muzzle perfect but doesn't she look stunning? 😍

This is Sampson! He is an adorable little puppers who is still learning what grooming is all about so he was a bit anxious and unsure at first, but once he grew to trust and bond with his groomer, he did so amazing for his haircut! He is such a good boy! 🥰

Peaches was super matted when she came in today. She hadn't been to a groomer in about 3 months and was going through coat change, so we helped get out the tangles and make her look like the adorable little princess she is! 😄❤️

He's a wizard... 🪄😃

There are many dangers of matting, ranging from causing the animal pain, to causing other more serious health issues. In this case, this pup had a very serious bacterial infection. These are sometimes easily unnoticed. The matting can be so good at hiding what lurks below the fur that seems easy to brush out. As groomers, we had to be trained to identify matting at the touch, and for some groomers, it continues to be difficult even when they have been doing this job for years. This is why it is so understandable for a pet parent to not know how bad these things can be. Our goal at Silky Pet Spa is to be a supportive and educational resource for parents as they learn what their pup needs to lead a comfortable and happy life. We are always here to help! ❤️

This was some tough fur to work with, but it turned out so cute! 😀

Unfortunately, we did not get a before of miss Lucy today but the after is still very satisfying. She was so well behaved the entire time and she even started falling asleep for her ears.

John John's dad is rock and roll and wanted John John to share the style! We love it!

Bear hasn't been groomed in a good while because he was kicked out of his other salon. He was a challenge for us but a super rewarding one. He is a very anxious boy, and he is going to need some patience and a little training in grooming, but we are ready and excited to see him on a regular basis! 😀

Hank is one of the biggest dogs we have here at our salon and he is both a lot of work and a lot of fun to groom. He came in very floofy so he turned out to be a pretty satisfying before and after. 😁

Olaf was such a sweet boy that had just been through something truly traumatic. He was so scared and unsure what to expect. We got to shave off all the matting and make him feel 10 pounds lighter to help on his way to recovering from this painful experience. He stole our hearts and we can't wait to start seeing him regularly for his next appointments. ❤️
