Did you know that four out of five rabbits bought as pets are abandoned or die within a year? 🥺 Dandelion here knows all about it. This sweet baby was abandoned and found in someone’s front driveway this week. Educate yourself on responsible bunny ownership and don’t let sweet buns like Dandelion fend for themselves in the wild! 💜🐰👏🏽

Churro came to my house two weeks ago. She despises humans and bunnies. We tried to put her in with Nibbles today.. and she held that title more than him. Here is what I learned today, her fur is COVERED IN P*E. She’s so not into humans that we believe she either escaped a breeding situation or was dumped, probably for her aggression. What I thought was dirt was actually p*e. She got comfortable being held but put up a big fight to get to that point. We’re hoping with lots of love and exposure she’ll become a loving and kind bunny and if not??? Someone treated her horribly and that’s on them not her…. I dropped her off at the rescue today, and she’s now in her own space where she’s secluded but can be around a few consistent trusted humans!!! Someone called today about finding two more bunnies dumped in Chaparral Park today! We were able to snag them both and she’s going to foster! This time the human society had room, which is INCREDIBLY rare. They will get vaccinated and spayed/nutered! We looked them over and apart from being scared and hungry they seem to be in good health! The Humane Society gets money from the government for the work they do. Unfortunately we do not. The bunnies we take in rely on all of you! If you’d like to help our rescue, please donate today! 💕

We own 7 bunnies! Ivy is an OG bunny in my group of four that now includes her fixed brother to make 5! Winston’s owner was moving and needed to rehome so he joined our family and then… Clementine was abandoned in a yard and I was able to get her so she lives with her husband Winston.

Last week, we rescued Churro who was also dumped but will be joining Katie in the rescue, but is going to stay with us for awhile, because she hates us so much and is incredibly aggressive. We’re trying to break her of that.

J grabbed Ivy because she was kinda being a punk and fighting with her crew. He decided to dress her up and we looked over at Churro and actually cry laughed. Her other eye is closed. She’s like… I cannot believe you let those people hold you, dress you, and play with you. I’ll fight you all… always be aware of the bunnies in your home. They haven’t murdered you yet….. but…. There is always the possibility. 😆😆

In all reality. I am hopeful that if she keeps seeing us handle all our other besties she’ll realize she’s safe again. People HAVE TO STOP DUMPING THEIR RABBITS. The fact that I have… 7 of 8 dumped rabbits in my home is insane.

A few weeks ago we got a call that someone had dumped their bunnies in someone’s yard. There is video evidence of this at the end. Trigger warning!⚠️ Unfortunately, one of them was taken by an owl, leaving the other outside TERRIFIED. It took the homeowner and I over an hour to catch the sweet girl. She’s literally a track star.. me? Not so much! Clementine went to the vet and was vaccinated and was adopted by me (Liz, social media guru), she is bonded to Winston and living her best life. I’m sad her friend wasn’t so lucky. This is a real problem and we’re at capacity. We need people to research before they adopt. We need breeders to be held accountable. We need volunteers and financial support, but mostly… WE NEED FOSTERS AND HOMES FOR THESE BUNNIES!!!! Please, please, please reach out if you can help in any capacity but especially if you want to foster or adopt! We’ll help educated you and find the perfect pet for you!

(She’ll come back! 😘) She has been volunteering since fourth grade! We’re so proud of you! We’re so excited for you! Melvin!!! This sweet boy has been at the rescue for awhile and this past weekend he went home with Inky and Hope! His two new best friends!!! Hey, friends! Katie has to be out of the house for several hours on Tuesday and so we need all hands on deck! I need at least four volunteers for next week on Tuesday! We have to have at least four for her to be able to leave! We also can’t have any cancellations as that will throw off the ability for her to go!! If you’re free on Tuesday August 19th, even for a few hours, we could use you!!! 💕💕💕

Did you know that here at Furrytail we go through over 200 pounds of hay every single day? That’s roughly 80 dollars a day, or 2,700 dollars A MONTH in just hay! has been generous enough to help us work around a common problem we have which is people forgetting to donate hay each month and will now help you set up reoccurring donations to our rescue!
