OK friends & family - time to share progress on "the journey". Over the years I had allowed my weight to tick up steadily to the point where I was living at 304 damn pounds - way too much! THEN - beginning on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, I began my "Healthy March" from 304 to a goal of shedding 124 pounds and living at a body mass of 180 pounds. I started a pre-surgical liquid diet, and had Bariatric Bypass surgery on Sept. 5th 2023. 3 weeks later, after my Doc had released me back to solid foods, I developed an intestinal blockage caused by a piece of ground beef - had to have emergency surgery to re-sect that section of small bowel - that was the worst 4 days of Level 11 pain I think I've ever experienced.

BUT - today I am thrilled to be able to report to y'all that I have thus far LOST ONE HUNDRED AND ONE POUNDS - 81% of goal accomplished, 23 more to go (see chart and before / after photos below). Very simply put, I eat healthier foods and much smaller portions than before. I still enjoy my sweet or salty snacks, but today I eat half a brownie instead of 4 large ones, or 2 cookies instead of a dozen and a half, or 2 oz. of pretzels instead of 3/4 of a bag of chips.

I also must tell you that I NEVER could have achieved these results without the expertise and caring, guiding hand of my coach, dear friend, and mentor / nutritionist extraordinaire one Ms. Donna Browning. She has been with me every step of the way on this path, teaching me, encouraging me, cheering me on, and yes, chiding / chastising me when I needed a kick in the butt. Donna even helped me find the motivation to quit smoking a year and a half ago. She has been a Godsend and beyond awesome for me, and I can never thank her enough! Also kudos and love and many thanks to my fiancee Netania, who will be moving here soon from her home in the Dominican Republic with her 2 wonderful kids Lucas & Naurelis. Her support and encouragement have been invaluable.

SO - stay tuned - I'll update when we reach goal!
