🧠 Meet Dr. Christopher Adams, our board-certified neurologist. 🩺

Dr. Adams completed his rotating internship at VCA SouthPaws in Fairfax, VA in 2017 and started his neurology internship at Southeast Veterinary Neurology of Palm Beach County in 2018 before moving to the Miami location in 2019. Dr. Adams began his neurology residency at Southeast Veterinary Neurology of Palm Beach County in 2020 and became a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2023.

Beyond veterinary care, Dr. Adams enjoys hanging out with his dog Mabel and spending time with his partner, Katya. Dr. Adams owns a Jeep Wrangler and is excited to explore what Arizona has to offer.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be spotlighting our team of passionate, board-certified specialists and the medical services available at our hospital, including Cardiology.

Meet Dr. Matthew Miller one of our board-certified cardiologists.

Dr. Miller earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University in 1984 and returned for his Master of Science degree in 1993. He completed a small animal medicine and surgery internship at the West Los Angeles Veterinary Medical Group from 1984 – 1985 and a cardiology residency at The Ohio State University from 1985 – 1988. He became a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Cardiology) in 1988. He is a Charter Fellow of the Michael E. DeBakey Institute of Comparative Cardiovascular Science and Biomedical Devices.

Beyond veterinary care, Dr. Miller enjoys practicing archery, going on long hikes, and spending quality time with his family.

GOOD NEWS! On November 1, our name will change to Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists North Scottsdale.

The new name better reflects the emergency and specialty services our team offers to the community. It also shows that we are part of something bigger—the trusted network of more than 380 Thrive Pet Healthcare hospitals across 37 states that support pets throughout their lives. Animal Medical and Surgical Center has been a part of Thrive Pet Healthcare since 2016.

We will continue to provide excellent emergency and specialty treatment for pets the way we do today.

The hospital’s hours will remain the same:
Emergency Care: Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
Specialty Care: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. (by appointment)
