Sunday AM Stable Hand
Prefer a self starter. This job is about roughly 2 hours of work, Prefer have experience working with horses, mucking stalls, operating farm equipment, be aware of signs of colic, lameness and injury. Must also be able to lift 50+ lbs, be reliable and have transportation.
*Full and continuous Training is provided.
Potential for extra shifts!
Duties include but not limited to:
making feed
feeding horses, goats, sheep, etc.
Bring in/Turnout horses
Mucking Stalls
change blankets, flysheets etc.
scrub water buckets
clean auto waterer
Requirements:
- Must be able to carry/lift 50-70 pounds
- Must be able to work in all kinds of weather
- Have reliable transportation
- Prior horse or ranching experience a plus, but not required for the right person. We are willing to teach.
Other requirements:
- Must have positive, "can-do" attitude - this is a happy environment and we want to keep it that way
- Problem solving capabilities
- Reliable and dependable - Must show up every day you are scheduled for work on time
- Must be able to follow directions and perform all duties in the time specified. ​

Dogwood Knoll Farm in Scottsville, Virginia has several show & lesson quality mounts for half and partial ON-site lease. English and western riders are welcome. DKF not only has in-house schooling shows but travels to BHSA, VHSA, USEF, USHJA, and other shows/events. Dogwood has many trails and access to over 1000 acres of trails locally. Some of our other amenities include a round pen, lighted riding arena, cross country/field hunter course and more.

Dogwood Knoll Farm in Scottsville, VA is seeking a riding instructor to teach in our program. Dogwood Knoll Farm focuses on trail riders and the hunter/jumper discipline. We are seeking someone to help the head instructor with the lesson load, and substitute in when the head instructor is away at horse shows. Currently a part time position however, the opportunity may be available for full time for the right person. Opportunities to coach at horse shows available if desired, but not required. Competitive pay based on experience. Applicants should be able to teach lead line/beginners through 3’.

a portions of all proceeds are donated to a local program in Scottsville to help outfit and provide riding lessons to less fortunate children whom have been bit by the horse bug.
