Just 75 days until our first of three foals is due! This is Smart Kitty Cuttin “Shorty”, a daughter of Kit Dual, out of a daughter of Peponitas Acre. She’s expecting a foal by CALL ME MITCH! We are hoping for a bay roan filly. 🤞🏻

We plan to breed Shorty one more time before she gets a cushy retirement at 4 Line Ranch. We may interrupt her retirement for a few trail rides, and a bit of weanling babysitting here and there.

Happy New Year from 4 Line Ranch! 🎉

This year we provided farm fresh beef to 14 families, dirt raised pork to 8 families, eggs to 7 families and raw milk to 2 families. A big thank you to all of our clients, family, friends and neighbors for supporting our operation.

On the horse side of the business, we had 1 foal born on the ranch in 2024- Kits Stunner Shades is our first AQHA c**t. He is sired by Stunned, and out of Smart Kitty Cuttin (by Kit Dual). Details on available horses can always be found on our website: www.4lineranch.com.

Our reined cow horse prospect Gin Blossom spent the year at Luke Jones Performance Horses and competed in her first show at the SDRCHA Road to Texas futurity in August. She tied for 3rd in the Open Level 1 herd work, netting her first NRCHA earnings. We hope to continue to show her next season.

We are expecting 3 foals in 2025- Smart Kitty Cuttin is expecting a foal by CALL ME MITCH in March, followed by our leased recipient mare, who is carrying a foal by AQHA legend Playgun, out of War Ponies’ NRCHA and NRHA money earning mare Smoke N Jet Surprise. Finishing up our foaling season is Dun It Strait Delta (Dun It Strait x Deltas Spicy Diamonds) with her first foal, sired by Metallic Chrome.

We have exciting equine crosses coming up for the 2025 breeding season - Playgun, Snapdragons and Metallic Chrome. 🥰

While it was a very windy day today, I am fortunate to still be enjoying trail rides in December in Iowa! Our three year old mares, Mark The Stars (Hollywood Reminic x Docs Painted Dice) and NRCHA money earner Gin Blossom (Playing On Gin x Alazulenas Delta Cat) did great on their solo trail rides today.

We had a fantastic weekend in Allerton, Iowa for Luke Jones’ clinic. Gin Blossom “Odessa” seemed to enjoy being back at Luke’s barn for a visit, and did a great job working the flag and cattle. We learned new techniques and drills to continue improving our performance, and made many new friends. We are sure looking forward to showing Odessa!
