Foaling season has begun at 4 Line Ranch! Check out this BIG c**t by CALL ME MITCH, out of our Kit Dual daughter! Isn’t he handsome? 😍 He arrived today, and is definitely red roan! He also has a large blaze and a high left hind stocking. We’re pretty pleased with this one. 💙

Foaling season is just around the corner at 4 Line Ranch! Smart Kitty Cuttin is past the 320 day mark, and we don’t have long to wait to meet her foal by CALL ME MITCH. 🥰

We’re busy giving the stalls a thorough cleaning today and bedding them down in preparation for the cold weather forecasted for Iowa this week.

We had an amazing time in Fort Worth this weekend! While it was a short 46 hours in Cowtown, we made the most of it. We stopped in to visit the Official American Paint Horse Association headquarters, had a new hat made at Western Legacy Company, took a mini tour of M.L. Leddy's saddle making department, went to the World’s Greatest Horseman finals where Erin Taormino made history as the first woman to win WGH, and we had dinner afterwards with our friends from Bickell Ranches, LLC and Double A Ranch. It was a whole lot of fun packed into 2 short days, but worth the trip. On our return flight home, we were happily surprised to find we were sharing a row with John, the President of Bluebonnet! We made sure to tell him that our 4 Line Ranch equines are fueled by Bluebonnet! 🥰

𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙃𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝟮𝟬 𝙈𝙞𝙣𝙪𝙩𝙚𝙨—𝙐𝙨𝙚 𝙄𝙩.

You don’t need a perfect schedule to improve your horsemanship. You don’t need hours in the saddle every day. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆.

And guess what? 𝟮𝟬 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵.

💡 20 minutes of intentional time with your horse beats another day of saying, “𝘐’𝘭𝘭 𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘵𝘰𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘰𝘸.”
💡 20 minutes of saddle time is still 20 minutes more than not riding at all.
💡 20 minutes spent working on something—anything—means you're 20 minutes closer to progress.

But most people convince themselves that if they can’t do 𝘢 𝘭𝘰𝘵, then doing 𝘢 𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 isn’t worth it. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗹.

Stop waiting for the perfect moment. You don’t need a 𝗳𝗮𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗽, 𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲, 𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. You just need to quit making excuses and start making 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹, 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀.

So, if you’ve been waiting for a sign to step up—this is it.

A few of my students and friends (myself included) are kicking off the 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗟𝗡𝗛 𝗛𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲, modeled after the 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗲𝗹 𝗟𝘆𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗛𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 for those familiar with that. The challenge runs February 15th through June 15th. The goal? 𝟲𝟬 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝟭𝟮𝟭 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀. Each session must be 𝗮𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟬 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀.

No gimmicks. No fluff. Just 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀.

Smart Kitty Cuttin (Kit Dual x dtr Peponitas Acre) is one of our favorite mares. Here is one of her foals by Stings Color, bred by her previous owner, who sold at Billings Livestock Horse Sale.

Smart Kitty Cuttin has a 2024 AQHA c**t by Stunned who is ready for a new pasture. He is eligible for NRCHA Stallion Stakes, Riata Buckle, Royal Crown Roping, Ranching Heritage, Nebraska Quarter Horse Classic and the IQHA Ranch Horse Futurity. He’s an excellent performance prospect! He is built thick with a lot of bone.

Smart Kitty Cuttin is expecting a foal by CALL ME MITCH in just a few weeks. Our amazing vet sexed the foal as a filly (via ultrasound), and we plan to retain her for our program.
