Finally went through and separated the chickens into 2 different groups ☺️ everyone is getting older now and hopefully we'll start seeing more progress in the breeding groups! One group is the paints and it has 2 black paint roos, 1 black paint hen, 1 chocolate paint hen, 1 chocolate hen and 2 black hens. The other pen is my splash pen that has 1 black roo, 1 chocolate roo, 2 black hens and 3 splash hens. I also have 6 chicks in the incubator that will go in the splash pen when big enough 🥰 3 splash and 3 black! Can't wait to watch the progress in these guys

So since I've never actually came on here and introduced myself and what projects I'm working on I might as well go ahead and make the post!

Hello!!
My name is Mariah Spicer - Walston, I am a mother of 5 beautiful babies. I was raising rabbits for show and took an almost 2 year break and I recently got back into harlequin rabbits 7 months ago. I decided to go the route of raising chickens for show when my 6 year old begged and pleaded to get silkie chickens. We started out with Mille Fluer Cochin bantams and then slowly moved to silkies. We are focusing on Black, Chocolate Paint, Blue Paint and Black Paint Silkies! We have a few Cochin bantams but keeping our main focus will be our silkies! ☺️ We are located on the eastern shore of Delaware and we will begin showing our birds in 2025 at the Delaware State Fair. We can't wait to see where this journey takes us but I'm hoping for the best. Our animals bring us so much love and joy and we love sitting outside with them, giving them treats and working with them to become very social.
I will be doing more hatching and if anyone has any specific requests on breeds of chickens, ducks or quail to hatch feel free to pm me and I will work on your request to hatch whatever you may be having trouble finding!
We are working on becoming NPIP and AI Clean and will hopefully move towards vaccinating our birds.

We had a mille Fluer bantam Cochin chick hatch this morning! So exciting! We also have a mess of call ducks eggs in the incubator along with a few silkie eggs from our girls Betty and Raven and 1 bantam Cochin egg left in the turner and 1 more on lock down!
No the bantam cochins will not be available! I'm sorry to those who may be waiting, these are the last 3 chicks I was able to get from our roo nugget that we lost due to the heat! These guys are very special to us ❤️

I just wanted to let everyone know that I will not be breeding or showing rabbits for a while. I currently have no rabbits but that may change in the next year or so and I will eventually be back I just have other things to focus on right now and I will very much miss having rabbits while I don't have any! I hope everyone has had an amazing holiday and an amazing new year!

Sorry I haven't posted much in a bit.. I've been busy getting animals ready for the cold weather and busy with school things with my oldest! I lost all of my baby rabbits but one out of the oldest litter so I'll be treating for coccidia as a precautionary thing just Incase but it couldve also been this crazy weather 😬 I do have a new litter of harlequins though and so far they're looking pretty healthy 😊 nothing really show qaulity but definitely atleast one or two hold backs!
I hope everyone has been staying warm and have a happy Halloween!
