What an incredible and beautiful day at Whippoorwill on Saturday!

Each and every one of our riders earned champion or reserve in their divisions. We are really starting to see the fruits of our labor this year pay off with our riders and horses putting their practice to the test!

We are so unbelievably saddened to share that our Allie girl has crossed over the rainbow bridge. 🌈

Allie and Jordan found each other many years ago as her racing career had ended and she was searching for her second career. Jordan always had a special connection with Allie and was the epitome of a “heart horse.” Jordan was kind enough to share his sweet girl with us and little did we know she’d turn out to be a hunter queen. 👑 With RRC, Allie was able to go to amazing venues like Tryon, the VA horse Center, Deep Run, and so many more. She truly was one of a kind.

Allie had opinions, that’s for sure… but if you just slowed down to listen, she’d tell you what she needed… and if you listened she’d give you her 110% every time.

So many of our riders loved Allie, but as of late, she and Clara spent the last few years together and a dynamic duo and Allie had so much to teach Clara. They were a great pair and their bond was undeniable.

We will forever miss Allie destroying our stalls and fences… our allie-gator, Alison Delaurentis, allie-gainey, crib pony, and she will live on forever in our hearts. I hope the rainbow bridge is made out of wood.

Thank you for everything, Allie girl. 💖

What an absolute blast we had at the The League Associate show at HITS Culpeper. This was definitely one of my favorites to date. We took a small group, Hannah and her OzDust, Abby and Ooh La La, and Darcy and After The Rain. What a fantastic show for us all with great success for each horse/rider team. I am such a proud coach!!

⭐️Hannah and OzDust were the 2’6” Bit O Straw Derby winners, earned some fantastic ribbons in the professional and non professional 2’6”, and won their Novice Jumper trip
⭐️Darcy and After The Rain were the 2’ Bit O Straw Derby winners AND the 2’ Non Pro Champions winning their under saddle, AND the Pony Pleasure Champions
⭐️Abby and Ooh La La were the Junior Equitation Winners, the 3rd place finisher in the 2’ Bit O Straw Derby and pulled some impressive ribbons, including several red ribbons in their over fences classes

The hospitality as always was second to none and it was truly one for the books! Huge thank you to Alaina for coming and helping wherever needed be it stalls, feeding, horse holding, or moral support!

Team RRC braved the weather and swam over to Willow Creek Equestrian Center this past weekend and what a great time we had! Unfavorable showing conditions didn’t stop us from making the best of it, getting wet, and showing our horses! I am so proud of all of the work these riders put in and the relationships they develop with the horses. We are so blessed to have such an incredible herd of horses in our program!

🌟Sydney and Ooh La La came away Champion in the Open Hunter Division, Sydney also earned an awesome 2nd place ribbon the VHSA Eq Flat class
🌟 Abby and Ooh La La came away Champion in the Special Hunters
🌟 Darcy and After The Rain earned Champion in Pony Pleasure and Reserve Champion in the Special Hunters
🌟 Jennifer Little and Tiger Lily absolutely CRUSHED a huge goal in the Baby Green Division earning a well-deserved Champion of the division.
🌟 Juliette Darling and Rosé All Day earned Reserve Champion of Pony Pleasure and Champion of Pre-Short Stirrup in just their second show ever.
🌟 Reagan and Hawkeye Blue overcame a rocky morning and learned so much together, even coming away with a Reserve Champion in the Pony Hunter Division
🌟 Clara and Pretty Little Liar overcame some morning obstacles and rose to the occasion putting in some fantastic courses and earning some great ribbons including a 2nd place over fences in the special hunters!
🌟 Alaina and Macadelic worked together beautifully, as this is a new pair, and put in some fantastic courses and earned some amazing ribbons both over fences and on the flat .
🌟 Lily and Blue Moon Sky CLEAN SWEPT the short stirrup division for the first time ever earning them an impressive Champion ribbon!

None of this would be possible without our amazing barn family, but most importantly I want to give a huge shout out to two amazing men who helped us get here. Jordan Montgomery who gives up his weekends so graciously to come to horse shows with us, boosting morale, helping wherever needed, hauling, you name it, lending his truck, he does it!! Thank you Jordan!! And Ethan Edwards who worked every night for over a week after his long days at work to make sure we had a reliable truck to get us to the show. It truly takes a village and I couldn’t be more grateful! Thank you!

We have made it to the 2024 IEA National Finals here at Tryon International Equestrian Center! Let’s all wish Riverfront’s Kendyl Reese good luck tomorrow in the Future Intermediate 2’ O/F class! To even qualify to get here is an AMAZING achievement and I couldn’t be more proud of Kendyl no matter what tomorrow holds!

Today is a sad day as we had to say goodbye to our Dearest Danny Boy. Dan was a staple here at RRC, and although he didn’t serve as a lesson mount, he served as a seeing eye dog to so many. Dan was kind and gentle. Dan was the one to settle the herd, to silently lead the pack, to tame down the ambitious babies. Dan was a phenomenal trail horse and the fastest barrel racer in town. Talking about turning on a dime. We will forever cherish Dan’s presence. Such a snuggle bug and teddy bear. We love you forever, Dan. Rest Easy big guy. 🤎🤎🤎🧸🧸🧸

What a bittersweet moment! Our seniors last IEA show is in the books! I have watched these girls grow as riders, as teammates, as role models, and best of all, as friends. I often wonder if their paths would have crossed had it not been for their love of horses, and I’m so happy that this sport allows for lifelong friendships to be made. Grateful for all of them and so excited to watch them grow as they all pursue different paths in their life and riding journeys. Thank you all for choosing to be an RRC rider, it has been an honor to coach you all for so many years! ♥️

A belated post but WOW!!

What an amazing time we all had at the 2023 VHSA Associate Championships!!

First I have to think our amazing barn family. I am just so grateful for all of you. Your effort aren’t unnoticed and I appreciate you all so much! The friendships and memories we make are the true prizes here! From the decor, to the delicious food, for the emotional support, you guys definitely deserve a round of applause for all of your efforts. THANK YOU! 🙏

✨Maysen Veitz and her boy Livin The Dream put in some absolutely incredible courses in the Children’s/Adult 2’6” Hunters. Scout was the best baby boy for his very first show of this caliber, showing off his true athleticism and taking everything in perfect stride! Maysen and Scout also showed in the Senior Pleasure Horse Division where Scout handled being in the sometimes overwhelming Anderson Coliseum like a total champ!

✨Emma Veitz on Livin The Dream also came away with an impressive 7th place ribbon in her giant and competitive Eq On The Flat class!

✨Emma Veitz and After The Rain stepped up their game together as Emma prepped for her collegiate riding future. Emma wanted to practice riding a horse she doesn’t typically ride. Emma and Cat had some terrific courses and learned a ton to prepare for Emma’s future.

✨Kendyl Reese and her very own Malibu Skies exceeded all expectations in the show ring. Baby Noodle is learning the ropes of big time showing and she was fantastic. She really shined in the East Complex and put in some incredible rounds in the Special 2’ Hunter. You could just see Noodle taking it all in and getting better as she went. We couldn’t be more proud of this girl!

✨Abigail Lenczewski and Ooh La La learned so much at this show and did a great job in the Special 2’ hunters and the Children’s Pleasure Divisions! This year was only Paris’s second year at Finals, and what we focused on was putting in good trips, and giving Paris the confidence she needed.. well we did just that! I was so proud of both Paris and Abby’s performance on Friday, they did a fantastic job and shined so bright!

✨Clara Chamblin and Pretty Little Liar we’re so much fun to see blossom. This show was a huge deal for them moving up to 2’ and I know there were so many jitters. Clara jumped some absolutely beautiful courses, Allie was such a perfect mount (in the East Complex 😜) and they were just such a joy to watch! I love this pair and I’m so excited to see where next year takes them.

✨Hollie Morris and Rollin’ On Faith are such an incredible team. This was also Faith’s second year and she handled it like an old pro. Hollie set goals of getting the. Real step and getting her changes and we really nailed that goal! Faith is such a brave girl and Hollie just loves her so much it brings my heart so much happiness!

✨Reagan Heitsman and Hawkeye Blue we’re just the cutest things we’ve ever seen. This was Blue’s first time at Finals and although he’s shown all over the East Coast, it was really special to see him all cleaned up and strutting his stuff. He definitely knew we were all there to watch him. Blue was such a good boy, and took great care of Reagan and they were able to land some really
Impressive ribbons in both their Pleasure Pony divisions, and in their Short Stirrup Classes! We’re very excited to squeeze in one more year in for this pair.

✨Darcy Brown and After The Rain shined in their Pleasure Pony Division and in their Short Stirrup Under Saddle classes earning some beautiful ribbons! Darcy is really starting to think about the art of horse showing and how to best show off her pony and it shows! They also put in some fantastic courses, meeting our goals of getting the true pony step and maintaining pace.

✨Lily Merical and Blue Moon Sky were absolutely fantastic for their first ever away show together! Lily got those jitters out and ride so beautifully and Sky was the perfect partner! They strutted their stuff in Pleasure Pony and later earned a beautiful ribbon in the Short Stirrup Equitation as well as a reserve mention in their over fences trip!

✨On Saturday we had the day off from showing so we took full advantage of the gorgeous weather and went to play around the Horse Center. It’s such a beautiful venue and I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to expose the kids to this. The horses were fantastic jumping banks, ditches, coops, and much more! We had a total blast!

I also wanted to thank Hannah Ferguson for coming to support our team on a Friday, we miss her so much while she is away at Emory and a Henry and it was great to have her. We also were thrilled to have Kristi and Sydney come to support our troop! She came stocked with Oreo balls, salsa and so many goodies!! We also had Alaina Sperry come to cheer on her team and she was such a huge help from cleaning stalls, to filling bay nets.. thank you Alaina!

WOW what a great and successful day for our Elite Team at Whippoorwill Farm!! Thank you to Leigh Rigsby for always hosting the best shows!

This show was FULL of successes, goals met, and improvements… and it’s only show TWO for our Elite Team! These riders are lease or own their own horses, so a lot of effort is put into growing with their particular horse making it such a huge accomplishment when we meet our goals!

I came away from this show with teary eyes and just so dang proud of my riders.

Way to go, Riverfront!
