Established in 1986, the Seal Beach Animal Care Center is a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter committed to finding permanent, loving homes for all the animals that come into our care. Our staff of dedicated volunteers ensures the animals are kept as comfortable as possible until they can be placed into new adoptive homes. As a no-kill animal shelter, getting through each day is an accomplishment.
While the SBACC primarily serves the City of Seal Beach, we attract adopters from Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, and San Diego Counties, in addition to networking with other shelters, rescue groups, and animal sanctuaries across the country. We believe that through adoption counseling and education, we are helping to create a community that cares for animals with responsibility and compassion.
Kittens Claudio & Nacho have a forever family! Six-month-old Claudio is one of five kittens born shortly after their pregnant mama was rescued, and Nacho is one of four brothers abandoned on the street at five weeks old. They were the choice of this lovely family to join their cat-friendly Goldendoodle dog and make the family complete! What fun they are all going to have! 😻
Orbit was six weeks old when found hiding in bushes outside a Seal Beach store with her sister and brother. She had her first birthday earlier in the year, likes to be petted, but can be a little cautious with people she doesn’t know. Get the mouse on a wire toy out and she’s your friend! She and lookalike sister Orchid also have great fun playing together. Their brother has been adopted, she’d do best with her sister or another young cat in her forever home.

Pretty Rye has a new family! One of three siblings born in a backyard and brought to us at 10 weeks old, Rye was the choice of this young man and his Mom. She will be their first cat together, and since Mom works from home most days, she will have plenty of company. Rye is playful and loves people, and we wish them all long happy lives! 😻
At five weeks old, my three brothers and I were rescued from an empty lot. I’m Sammy, and I can be a bit shy, but I do like attention and pets once I get to know you. I like to play with toys, and especially with my brothers. I’m more comfortable with other cats than with people, but since moving to the big cat room I’ve gotten a lot friendlier. I do need to find a home with one of my brothers or with another kitten or young cat for a companion.

Randy has quite the smolder😏 This boy needs time to warm up, but he has such a sweet demeanor when he does. He LOVES affection, and will do the cutest little dance when he sees you coming to his run. If you have any experience adopting shy dogs, you know just how special it is to see them come out of their shells, and their true personality start come out.💛
Kittens Neo & Rowdy go home together! Little Neo was featured a few days ago, one of four born to Mama Nova on a balcony. Rowdy is one of three siblings found in some bushes at three months old. They weren't in the same room at the shelter, and their adopters spent a long time before choosing them to join the family! They will have five adults and two felines in their new home, one previously adopted from us! We're sure the boys will become fast friends and have so much fun! 😻
I was eight weeks old, all alone, and hiding in the bushes near a Ralphs grocery store when rescued and brought to SBACC. The people who found me kept me for a few days saying I was very friendly and sat on their laps. I’m Zahara - I can be cautious when I first meet new people but will soon warm up and want head rubs! My favorite thing to do is play and wrestle, and I love wand toys more than anything. I’m independent but would love to go to my forever home with another kitten or young cat!

Kitten Smudge has a new family! Smudge is one of five kittens taped into a box and abandoned at the Seal Beach Pier when they were five weeks old. She was the choice of this nice young couple to join their active young feline! They visited all of the kittens twice over two days and decided on Smudge, who wasn't even on their "short list" after day one, but she won their hearts in the end! Happy new life, sweetheart!😻

Hello, I’m Dior. My sisters and I were born in the home of the person who rescued our pregnant mama from under a car. Our mama took good care of us but was semi-feral and escaped out a window before we were two months old, after which we were sent to a foster home. I can be quite cuddly and will climb into laps and enjoy being petted. I think I’d do fine in a home with children, or another cat (maybe even a dog). I love people and love to be loved! 😺

We had another great double adoption yesterday - kittens Abu & Shelly together! They have both been featured recently and were not in the same rooms at the shelter, but this nice young couple visited all of our rooms and these two were the lucky winners! We're sure they will become instant buddies! Have long, happy, fun-filled lives, sweet kittens!😻
My four siblings and I were found with our mama, Margaret Mary, on the front porch of a house at about five days old. At their foster home, mama was so protective of her babies that she wouldn’t let their foster mom come near. So, they all returned to SBACC and mama nursed them in a special back room at the shelter. I’m Minnow, and though I don't always want to be held or cuddled, I've come a long way. I'm sure I can be a loving companion given time, patience, and gentle loving care. My siblings have all found their homes – I’ll need another kitten or young cat in my forever home.

Mama Nova's kittens are at the shelter! You met her yesterday, and a couple of weeks ago we featured her four look-alike kittens, who were remaining in foster care for a while. They are all now at the shelter, sadly in a cage in a big kitty room since we are so crowded, but they are all sweet, cuddly kittens, and three of them are also polydactyl like their Mom! Here is kitten Neo, the other three, Nirvana, Noche, and Noir, follow him on the website! Come in and meet them, they are the best! 😻

She and her four siblings were rescued from the Seal Beach Pier at five weeks old. They’d been taped up in a box - a nice construction worker brought them in. Their foster home had some grown-up cats and a big dog. Shelly is the most outgoing of their litter, and loves to run around, play and get into everything! She’d be OK as an only cat but hopes to go to a forever home with a sibling or another kitten or young cat to play and snuggle with.

Meet SHERIFF🤎 He is a 9 year old doxie mix who LOVES to walk, takes treats sooo gently, and is just a perfect little gentleman. Sheriff gets along with other dogs, and loves people. Perfectly mellow when he's inside, but ready to walk and go explore whenever he can! We love him already, and know whoever takes this handsome guy home will be very lucky🤎🤎
Kittens Molly & Oodles go home together! Molly is another one of Margaret Mary's kittens, and Oodles was rescued by a good samaritan at just five days old. They were in the same room at the shelter and were the choice of these lovely young women to be their first pets on their own! We predict a fun, happy life for all! 😻

I’m Nova, I delivered four kittens on someone’s balcony -they took care of us until my kittens were five weeks old and able to eat on their own. They couldn’t keep us any longer than that and weren’t able to find homes for us so brought us to SBACC. I’m polydactyl and so are three of my four kittens. In case you’re not sure, it means we have extra toes, six instead of five, on our front paws. I’m a friendly and loving young cat, barely over a year old and will sit next to you or maybe on your lap and even eat out of your hand. I took really good care of my kittens but I’m all done with that now and ready to be loved and pampered by my very own family.

Kittens Eleanor & Mick go home together! Eleanor was rescued from a park with her four brothers when they were five weeks old, and Mick is one of Margaret Mary's five kittens, all found on a porch when the kittens were five days old. They were in different rooms at the shelter, and this Mom and her young daughter spent a very long time deciding which two kittens to adopt. The photo of Mick was shared a few days ago with him invading his roommates' perch! They will be their first kittens, and they are so excited! Have long, wonderful lives, Eleanor & Mick!
My siblings and I were rescued from a car engine when we were only three days old, but sadly, one of us didn’t survive. I’m Abu and I like to climb, run, chase and wrestle. My favorite toys are fuzzy mice, balls, and plastic springs. My brother and sister recently found their home. I’d probably be OK as an only kitty if I get lots of attention but it would be much more fun to go home with another kitten or young cat so I’d always have a playmate and cuddle buddy.

Kitten Vanjie has a forever family! this little beauty just wandered into someone's garage at six weeks old, with no mom or siblings in sight. Well, now she has a Mom, two teenage and one grown human sibling, and another feline sister! Mom thinks her new name may be Honey based on her coloring. Have a long, happy life, sweet girl!
I’m Landon - I was a month old when rescued from a hospital parking lot, all alone and starving. The foster home I was sent to already had a mama cat and her three kittens (one of them the adopted Lucy from yesterday’s posting). My foster mom started to bottle-feed me, and the mama cat came over to check me out, sniffing and starting to lick me. She accepted me as her own – suddenly I had three siblings and a new mama. Before too long, I got to play and run and jump with my new siblings. When I slowed down, I loved to sleep in my foster mom’s lap or next to my siblings. She says I’m a definite lap kitten and a happy, adorable, affectionate, and trusting little guy. I’d love to go home with one of my adopted siblings or with another kitten or young cat.
