Gear check!

At the core of my work is love and understanding. But that can only go so far to change a dog's behavior. At the end of the day, no amount of love and understanding is going to get a dog to stop biting you or attacking other dogs, little fuzzy creatures, people, kids, bikes, etc. etc. I teach boundaries and structure and show that living a life of earning everything is a lot more joyful than taking.

So, with that in mind, here's just a handful of the main hand on tools that I use daily.

Healthy treats, hidden treat pouch bag, slip lead, leather leash, HermSprenger prong collar, Mini educator e collar, redline k9 tug, baskerville muzzle.

I also use their everyday food. RuffLand kennels, and raised place cots.

But most of all, when training anything in life, we must use patience and consistency.

This is Goose! He got in Friday for his 3 week board and train program. Goose doesn't like to be approached by strangers, and he isn't very trusting of others. He pulls on the leash and definitely wasn't my friend. (I get it, dude). Over the weekend, we have built some small trust by establishing boundaries through love, leadership, and structure, and moving slow to show him I'm no threat. Well, I'd say we've come pretty far in 3 short days. Yes, he still is working through anxiety, and he will continue to do so for a little while, but I know and believe in him and our work together that he will come around and be more confident in his everyday adventures.
