Thanks to all the partners & residents who helped today at the annual underwater & on-land coastal cleanup at @dmwfm at Des Moines Marina. From divers bringing debris to shore, to volunteers sorting & weighing it, to residents signing up to adopt a storm drain or steward a @poogooder #zeropoo yard sign & bag dispenser in their neighborhood, every little bit makes a big difference for people, pups & the planet. You can help keep local waters clean every day even if you’re not near the shore! A major source of water pollution is stormwater carrying dog poo, trash, car oil/grime/tire dust & pesticides/fertilizer that flows down storm drains & directly into the nearest stream & Puget Sound untreated. It takes community, connection & convenience to foster change for good & aim for zeropoo — plus unending patience, persistence & problem solving — so thank you for making Poogooder a true grassroots movement to help end wayward dog poo for a happier, healthier community & planet.
