Recently, a canine respiratory illness has made the news. While we still have not identified a specific pathogen for this illness, we do know that respiratory pathogens are very contagious and are transmitted via droplets in the air.

There are two simple ways to protect your pet from this disease:

💉 Keep vaccinations up to date (if you are unable to verify, please contact your veterinarian)
🐶 Avoid interaction with unknown pets or pets who frequently travel/board

If daycare or boarding environments are something you can't avoid, please see your veterinarian to see what additional vaccinations may be needed to protect your pet. The same goes if you are unable to verify your pet's vaccinations are up to date.

We're happy to see you at one of our locations - many of which have same-day availability: https://caraveterinary.com/locations/

🚨Important information for pet owners!🚨

🐶 Rabies virus: Rabies is a deadly virus that affects both wild and domestic animals. The virus travels from the nerves to the brain and spinal cord, causing behavior changes and paralysis. Rabies is almost always fatal and can be transmitted to humans. Vaccination against rabies is mandatory for pets, and it can save their lives and protect public health.

🐾 Parvovirus: Parvovirus is a highly contagious virus that attacks rapidly dividing cells. It commonly affects puppies and causes symptoms like lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea, and dehydration. Parvovirus is frequently fatal, but early hospitalization and supportive care can improve survival rates. Vaccination is the best way to prevent parvovirus, and puppies should complete their vaccination series to ensure reliable protection.

Protect your furry friends from these dangerous viruses by vaccinating them regularly. Stay safe, and give your pets some extra love today! ❤️🐾
