Meet Socks! This 2.5-year-old sweetheart is the perfect mix of independent and affectionate. He loves being a lap cat—but only when he’s in the mood! Socks enjoys chasing balls and playing with wand toys, which helps strengthen his muscles after FHO surgery on his hind legs. He’s also a talker, so if you’re looking for a chatty companion, he’s your guy!
Socks requires a special diet due to a past urinary blockage, but he’s been doing great. He’s previously lived with children and does well with all ages, though we’re not sure how he feels about other pets. Founded by Vivian Goldbloom in 2013, Emerald City Pet Rescue exists to rescue abused, neglected, and homeless animals from high-volume shelters around the country and place them into loving and forever homes.

We are a 501c3 non-profit foundation animal rescue based out of Seattle, Washington.

We pride ourselves on providing the best medical care possible for our rescued animals and rehabilitating hard-to-adopt animals to help them increase their chances of finding loving homes.
