⭐🎉 FEBRUARY PET OF THE MONTH 🎉⭐
Meet Murray, a well-loved Wirehaired Pointing Griffon. Her owners have shared some fun facts. Enjoy!
- Likes: hiking, cuddling, being the first to grab food dropped on the floor
- Dislikes: skateboards (so scary!), personal space, baths
A funny story: Murray always carries her bowl around the house, which gives the funny impression that she's waiting to be fed at all times. When she was very young, we discovered that when she has her bowl in her mouth, she won't jump up on house guests. So now, whenever someone comes to the door, she runs to get her bowl first and then greets them at the door. She's really the cutest.

🎉 JANUARY'S PET of the MONTH 🎉
Some insights into how Charlotte and her owner's started their weight loss journey.
Charlotte's Likes: 1. Broccoli 2. Costco Rotisserie Chicken 3. Blueberries
Charlotte's Dislikes: 1. Squirrels 2. Being bothered while eating 3. When I leave for work in the morning

Here are a few of the things they did to help Charlotte along her weight loss journey:
1. Took a two-mile run/walk through the Ravenna Forest 4-6 times a week since August '24.
2. They were strict about food measuring to follow feeding guidelines from vet. (Use a measuring cup every time! No rounded scoops!)
3. In addition 'I needed to lose weight too so we had a shared goal that we both took seriously; she kept me accountable'.
She lost 15, I lost 8!

🎉 Sending Congratulations to Dr. Yen-Yu 'Vivien' Chou. 🎉

Dr. Chou joined our hospital in June 2024 and was already a licensed veterinarian in Taiwan. Yet she had to work as a veterinary assistant here in the States while completing all of the requirements to be licensed in Washington. This is a huge accomplishment!

You may have already met Dr. Chou during a previous visit, but she is now ready to put her doctor skills to work and is looking forward to meeting you and your pets in her new capacity.

Here’s info on Hazel aka Hazy!
She loves:
• Hiking & camping
• Beach walks
• Watching puppy tv out my living room window.
She does not enjoy:
• Walks in the rain
• Me when I sing
• Being cold (she loves snuggling up under a fleece blanket!)
I adopted Hazel from a local pet rescue when she was 7 months old. She’s so much fun! Such a lovable goof.

🥳 Maki is our Pet of the Month 🥳

Here's a little background about lovely female Akita named Maki.
Likes: chicken, squeaky toys, her spot on the couch
Dislikes: getting her nails clipped, getting barked at by other dogs, not getting to go on walks when we get home.
Funny Story: She happily howls when she's excited, like when we get ready to go on walks or when we get home. She also throws her new toys around because she's so excited and then proceeds to disembowel them!

⭐⭐ DAISY is our October Pet of the Month ⭐⭐

Daisy's family has shared some insights into this lovely female black lab. We're so glad she is on the road to recovery and back enjoying life.

We are glad to share Daisy's story!
The most unique thing about Daisy is her love of TV. She will watch it intently, come running form other rooms when she hears familiar commercials, or animal sounds. She loves to shake her toys at the dogs she sees and wags her tale hoping they'll spring through the screen to play. It is the strangest thing we've ever seen Guests and friends always comment on it. It's bizarre!

Other than TV, she loves to be at the beach. She loves to wade but only takes a cooling off swim after she has baked herself on warm rocks. She does also to LOVE to lay in the sun. Taking walks, family getaways, and time with her favorite cousin (a gigantic yellow lab) are also very high on her list.

We are so grateful for the workup that led us to where we are now. She had the surgery to remove her spleen and the large mass last Wednesday. We just heard back on pathology report and it's much better news than we were bracing for! The mass on her spleen was myelolipoma. Her liver yielded benign regenerative nodules. We are hopeful that she can be weaned off steroids and continue to enjoy life.
She is recovering beautifully!

PET OF THE MONTH for SEPTEMBER
Carrot is an orange tabby kitty who had skin lesions that are finally under control he is feeling much better. Here are some fun facts from his family and photos for your enjoyment.

Carrot said he would love to participate! Here are those details:
>> He likes: Neck massages, salmon, and his stuffed carrot toy
>> He doesn't like: Back scratches, being interrupted in a nap, being left out of activities
A memory: Despite having two other cats prior to Carrot, I didn't know that cats chirp at birds until I adopted him. Carrot is fond of looking out of my window and chirping at birds on the power lines.

Caspian has a very dedicated owner and together they have conquered several health issues that Caspian experienced in his short life. We're glad they were willing to share his story and let you meet this special kitty.
Here is Caspian's info! I'm so delighted that he's pet of the month (and so is he! Teehee). 🥰
Likes:
-Snuggling under the covers
-Chin scratches
-Effortlessly leaping over the 9 foot pet gate his mother installed in the hallway with a strength that can only be described as "Herculean".

Dislikes:
-When dinner is more than 17 seconds late
-Thunder
-Being prohibited from chewing on cables

Funny story:
After returning home from some errands last month, I couldn't find Caspian in his room. In a sheer panic, I rapidly looked nearly everywhere to no avail. My last-ditch effort was to grab some treats and see if he'd come out of hiding for them... Lo and behold, this sweet little man had curled himself up into the most compact little donut shape under a blanket! Now I know to always look under the covers if I can't find my cozy little orange lad.
