ZOO DAYS OPEN TO PUPS!
Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium and Northwest Trek Wildlife Park are hosting their first-ever DOG DAYS! For the very first time, well-behaved pups are invited to explore the wild side of Pierce County’s sister zoos! Bring your pup for scenic walking trails, agility demos, photo ops, and tasty Pup Cups. Well-behaved dogs are welcome anywhere on the walking paths, just not on trams or premier tours. Guests 18+ may bring one dog each with an advance-purchase ticket—no dog tickets sold at the gate.

WAMAL isn’t arranging group tickets for these events, but we’re hoping many of our WAMALians will still join in and share their photos!

**Meet Hades — 55 lbs of pure love and goofiness! 💙**

At 8 years young, this smart, snuggly boy is all about scenic strolls, chill car rides (ears flapping = bliss), and showing off his tricks—he knows how to *hug*, *kiss*, and even *dance*! 🐾🕺

Hades is a true country boy at heart. City noise? No thanks. He’s happiest in a quiet, cozy home with birdsong and good vibes. He gets along with other large dogs, but he’d also be thrilled to be your one-and-only sidekick.

Currently being spoiled in foster care, but he’s ready for a forever family to call his own. 🛏️💫

HOT DOGS AND HOME RUNS!!
Less than a week left to sign up to join WAMAL at the Mariners game next Wednesday, September 10! It’s a Bark at the Park event so your pups are welcome too but you don't need a pup to attend! Game starts at 6:40PM.

We have reserved a block of seats so we can all hang out together as a pack!! Don’t miss the chance to meet other WAMALians, Mal owners, and their pups. Going as a group, if we get 20+ participants we get a shout-out on the giant score board! Regardless of how many WAMALians go, all pups are invited to trot around the field at the end of the game.

🐾 Meet Dakota – Your Gentle Giant Adventure Buddy! 🐾

Say hello to Dakota, a 5-year-old, 120 lb Alaskan Malamute with a heart as big as his paws! 💙 This gentle giant is full of love, playful energy, and loyalty. He adores people, toys, and soaking up ALL the attention. 🥰

✅ Knows sit, stay, and come (in true Malamute style – when he feels like it 😄)
✅ Loves car rides, walks, playtime, and outdoor fun
✅ Great with big dogs in supervised play
🚫 Not ideal for small dogs or young kids due to his size and excitement
🏡 Would love a fenced yard and a cozy spot on the couch next to you

After a day of fun and play, Dakota is ready to curl up with you for TV time and cuddles. 📺🐾

🆘 Sadly, due to no fault of his own, Dakota's owner must find him a new home. He needs a family who understands and loves Northern breeds, and who will spoil him rotten. 💖

🐾 Meet Togo & Blackjack – A Bonded Pair Looking for Their Second Chance at Love 💕

Togo (6️⃣ years old) and his best buddy Blackjack (7️⃣ years old) were living their best lives in a loving home—until sadly, their beloved owner passed away. These two sweet boys are now looking for a new furever home where they can once again feel safe, loved, and cherished. 🏡

🐶 About Togo:
Togo is the more outgoing of the two when meeting new people. Though a little cautious at first, it doesn’t take him long to warm up once he realizes there’s attention and affection waiting for him. 💖 He’ll play with toys for a few minutes, but his favorite activity is coming back to you for pets and cuddles. 🐕‍🦺 Togo especially enjoys being brushed — it feels good and means extra love! Larger than Blackjack, Togo may look like a big guy, but he’s truly just a gentle giant.

Though a bit more reserved than Togo at first, Blackjack is a loyal and loving companion once he feels comfortable. He enjoys being brushed and petted. He loves going for walks and does well on car rides. This gorgeous 3.5-year-old mixed-breed girl is looking for her forever home — could that be you?

Mina spent 1.5 years at her previous rescue through no fault of her own, and while there, she proved to be a total love bug with everyone she met! 💕 She adores being brushed (perfect for those who love Husky/Malamute grooming sessions!) and would love nothing more than a soft couch and a gentle hand to call her own.

Because of a slight paw deformity, Mina is hoping for a home where she doesn’t need to walk on lots of pavement. A yard or soft trails would be ideal. 🐾

Meet Rose & Aurora — two shy but sweet almost 2 year old sisters looking for a forever or foster home 💕

These beautiful Malamute mixes survived almost a year on their own in Sunnyside. Now safe and cared for, they’re slowly learning that humans can be kind — and they’re ready for the next chapter of their journey 🏡✨

🌹 Rose is a little more reserved but enjoys hanging out with her doggy crew.
🌌 Aurora is very timid and still working on her leash skills — she needs someone who will go at her pace, with patience and love.

🐶 Both girls do great with other dogs and would thrive in a calm, peaceful home.
🐾 They are a bonded pair and must stay together.
💙 Part of the “Magnificent 7 Malamutes” rescued by Hope 4 Huskies — now in the care of NW Snowdog Rescue.

Grab your pup and join us at the **Seattle Mariners game on September 10th @ 6:40pm** as they take on the St. Louis Cardinals!

We’ve reserved a block of seats so WAMALians (and their floofy friends 🐶) can cheer together — and YES, pups are *totally* welcome!

🐾 $22 per dog (each dog needs their own ticket)
