Our August Dog of the Month is none other than the tremendous tripod, Charlie Butterbean!
Charlie is one of our early dogs, having been coming to PLAY for many years now; she even returned after a sojourn in europe!
She is a classy, sweet girl who is not afraid to let her hair down and get a good chase going on.
A very darling girl. xx

July's Dog of the Month is this dynamic duo, Max and Wilson!
These brothers love each other and everyone else around them endlessly. They always have a sweet nature and lead by great example for the other dogs when boarding.

Our June Dog of the Month is Napali!
This sweet and fun loving girl is everybody's friend. Napali loves to play hard and then chill out by the pool.

May's Dog of the Month is Layla Cobweb!
Big on personality, Layla is sweet, goofy, and sassy all at the same time. She is always getting an A+ on enrichment activities and she LOVES the water! she has grown and matured tremendously over the years. We are very proud of her :)

April's Dog of the Month is Ajax! A darling senior pup who is always so happy to arrive at daycare and to greet the other dogs. A fine example of what is to be such a good boy :)

Our Facebook banner features the very handsome Chewy who came to play with us at PLAY when we very first opened back in 2012. We received this week the very sad news that Chewy recently passed away. He hadn't attended for many years now, but he has always been there peering over the fence on fb :-) Our hearts go out to Chris and Nate who gave Chewy a very happy and loved life. xx

She may be small, but she is Almighty! If the Spice Girls had a Spicey Spice, it would be Maliah. She runs the daycare, including the Rufferees!
Usually found on her throne of blankets where she can oversee her minions, or snuggled on a lap where she can be oh, so cute and loving ❤️

This gorgeous girl has turned 15 this month! She started life in Korea, and was so lucky to find her forever home with Anita here in Seattle. We think she was about 6yrs old when she first started coming and dancing with us at PLAY.

February’s Dog of the Month is this beautiful girl...Juno! As sweet as she is sassy, Juno has been with us since she was a pup. You can find her on top of her castle people watching or talking smack in the form of woo woos 😂 you’ve been such a good girl Juno! ❤️❤️

It is with a lot of tears that we say goodbye to darling, sweet Mochi who has gone on to find peace and quiet up among the stars.
He had 14 long, happy and well-loved years full of adventures with his family and sidekick Otter.
Mochi was one of our early birds at PLAY, and he quickly got the nickname 'American Idol' as he loved to croon, especially duets with the staff ;-) and he had the best hello and welcome which would brighten any day.
So long Moch, we will miss you ###x

If you've been playing with us at PLAY for over 3 years, you will remember the delightful duo of, The Dollie Mama, and Minnie Pearl. They moved to Austin, Texas in 2018, and this week Sarah had the great pleasure of catching up with them...

Sarah: So Minnie, how are you enjoying Austin?

Minnie: Well, Sarah, I’m still as ball obsessed as ever, so that hasn’t changed except that I can be out all year round now what with the Texas weather, so I’m loving that aspect.

Sarah: Dollie, what has been the best thing about your move to Austin?

Dollie: I think I’d have to say Lizards! At first I was having squirrel withdrawal symptoms. There are squirrels here, of course, but they’re so much cuter than the Seattle squirrel so I didn’t want to chase them. But then I discovered lizards! and boy, are they fun, fun, fun. They’re SO fast! And the best thing, they are much more sizeable to catch, so I always feel I’m in with a good chance.

Sarah: I must say you are both looking in great shape, and very happy

Dollie: yes, I’m 9 now and Minnie is 7, and this Austin weather and lifestyle is much more to our liking. We’re keeping fit, and the treats keep us happy. Minnie has a little more grey than I do ;-)

Sarah: Well, thank you for sitting down and chatting with me, it’s been an absolute delight to catch up with you both. We certainly miss you girls at PLAY, but I can see there’ll be no way to entice you back. We wish you all well xx

Big congratulations to Tulaya who has taken over ownership of PLAY on the Hill effective July 1st 2021.

Tulaya has been with PLAY for 4+ years and was Manager of the Hill prior to the chaos of covid. Now she is back in style as the new owner! We could not be happier to pass the leashes into her capable hands. ❤️

The Hill is now renamed Little Dog Garden, where small breeds blossom! 🌷

The wonderful standard of love, care and service, and the terrific staff all remain the same.

We are heartbroken to report the passing of sweet, sweet Lucy Beagle. We are very grateful to have gotten to share the last 5+ years with this snuggly, cuddly girl. She was a favorite with all the staff, and a special pal to Brewster Beagle. She loved her walks with staff. If you didn't pet her fast enough, she'd bay the place down lol!
We loved her and will miss her so much.
Sending our love and thoughts to her family.

A special day at PLAY on Cherry today as we helped a young man celebrate his Wish Day.
Thanks to Nicole and Colleen of Make a Wish Foundation, Semone’s puppy wish came true. Wishing Semone and his new best friend, Kiba, many adventures together.

I have to recognize what an outstanding job Megan, Lynna, Anthony and our ‘happen to be visiting’ friend, Kat, did today!!
An underground gas leak fire erupted right outside Play spewing thick smoke, flames and even black molten lava up through multiple street drains. Fire Department evacuated all residents and that included 43 dogs from PLAY. Everyone, including the dogs, kept their cool. We were able to move all the dogs to safety up to Powell Barnett Park.
Shout out to our owners who dropped what they were doing to come collect their dog.
I already knew we had a fabulous team at PLAY, but boy! did they prove that today! You are all THE BEST!

Many of you will remember Taylor, who work for us for a couple years as she attended Seattle U. A wonderful young woman who was a joy to work with and loved by all the dogs.
Cancer has already caused her family much loss, and now she finds she must battle it herself.
If you are able to help with even the smallest donation, the dogs and I would be very grateful.
