As the year winds down, we're feeling extra grateful for the wagging tails, playful barks, and joyful moments your pups bring into our lives every day. ❤️

Whether they’ve been romping in daycare, snuggling in boarding, or dazzling us after a grooming session, each pup has a special place in our hearts—and so do you, their amazing humans!

Jordan is a Night Owl and has been at DDL for over a year. What he enjoys the most about working with us is the flexibility the job provides and caring for so many wonderful dogs.

In his spare time, he enjoys watching college football and UFC fights, playing video games, listening to music, taking his dog to the beach, and traveling. He's fairly new to Washington, so he also likes taking road trips to different places around the state.

Thanks for all you do, Jordan. The pups and we appreciate it!

🐶 Tucker: The Master Lover
Tucker is a sweet adult boy with soulful eyes and an even sweeter personality. He loves all people and thrives on physical affection—whether it’s resting his head on your knees or snuggling in your lap. He is house-trained, well-mannered, gentle, affectionate, and loving. Tucker would do best as the only dog in a calm and loving home.

🐕 Fritz: The Brilliant Athlete
Fritz is an adult shepherd mix with smarts, energy, and a lot of love to give. Once he warms up to you, he’s a loyal companion who loves to stay active. He is active, intelligent and devoted and is looking for an energetic family to take him on runs, walks, or other adventures to keep his mind and body engaged. An active family with a yard, ready to teach and bond with Fritz would be ideal.

🐾 Jill: The Resilient Companion
This almost 4-year-old chihuahua/terrier mix has overcome a tough start and is ready for a bright future. Jill is affectionate, independent, resilient and loves humans and attention, and will happily join you on walks or cuddle up at home. She’s looking for a family who can give her all the love she deserves. Jill would thrive as the only dog in a home where her humans are around often.

Brody’s journey hasn’t been easy, but this young Doberman has come through with a heart full of love. He’s friendly, playful, athletic, and gets along with other dogs. Brody is ready to bring his strong, athletic spirit into a loving home and is currently working on his leash reactivity through training. His ideal home would be with a family that matches Brody’s energy and enjoys his playful nature.

For National Senior Pet Month, we’re honored to celebrate Firefly, a champion Cocker Spaniel with a story as unique as her name. Part of a litter affectionately named by her breeder’s grandkids—Superfly, Dragonfly, and more—Firefly began her life as a show dog. While she earned champion status, her kennel life was crowded, and at 4 years old, she was retired after testing revealed she carried glaucoma genes. That’s when Firefly was given away by her breeder and found her forever home.

Transitioning from the show ring to family life came with some challenges. Firefly had very little “doggie education.” It took her four months to learn how to go upstairs—and another two to stop rolling down them! She sat perfectly still for hours with her first Cone of Shame, eventually needing pool noodle necklaces instead, and didn’t even realize she had a nose until she turned 5. Once she discovered it, though, she became a backyard explorer, following critter trails with enthusiasm. One memorable encounter with an owl by the pool ended with both Firefly and the owl making dramatic escapes—Firefly letting out her first-ever yelp of surprise when it spread its wings!

At nearly 13 years old, Firefly has adjusted well to Seattle condo life, though her champion habits remain. She still strikes a perfect show stance whenever she’s on artificial turf—even if it’s just her indoor p*e pad. This has led to frequent walks outside (six to seven times a day!) to keep her happy. Firefly also loves the care she receives at DDL’s Senior Center when she needs a vacation, bringing her joy and comfort.

Firefly, you’ve come a long way from the show ring, and your charm and resilience continue to light up every moment. We’re so lucky to have you as part of the DDL pack! ❤️🐶✨

For National Senior Pet Month, we’re excited to feature this inseparable duo! Hops, a loving big brother, adores his little sister Charlie, and the feeling is mutual. These two do everything together—Hops is the ever-patient sibling, often cuddling up in Charlie’s spaces and giving her a post-meal cleanup. 😋

Charlie, a true bike enthusiast, loves to ride in the bucket of her human’s e-bike, adventuring through Seattle’s best parks and exploring to her heart’s content. Together, they make the perfect team, spreading joy and love wherever they go! ❤️🚲🐶

For National Senior Pet Month, we’re thrilled to feature Sketch, a lovable Maltese with a knack for mischief! Named for his “sketchy” introduction (he barfed on his human the first time they met as a puppy), Sketch has been keeping life interesting ever since.

Now almost 15, Sketch may have no teeth, but that doesn’t stop him from munching on anything and everything he discovers in the yard. And getting dirty? It’s his favorite pastime! Sketch, your quirky charm and adventurous spirit make every day brighter. ❤️🐶

For National Senior Pet Month, we’re excited to spotlight Odin, a resilient and adventurous pup who’s brought love and joy to so many. Adopted at about 1 year old from Dog Star Rescue in Connecticut, Odin’s journey began in a high-kill shelter in North Carolina before being saved by The Farley Foundation. When he first arrived home, he was scared of everything—even stairs. But over time, Odin found his confidence and became a wonderful foster dog, helping other pups find their forever homes.

Odin has lived in Connecticut, Texas, and now Washington, sleeping soundly through road trips and always ready for the next adventure. At 11 years old, he still enjoys hikes, chasing bunnies, squirrels, and other small creatures (except mice and rats, which he diplomatically ignores 😆). One memorable squirrel chase ended with him panicking and letting it go!

Odin also loves the beach, rolling in dirt, and lounging in his new backyard—especially in the summer under his favorite bush.
He is a master at puzzles and insists on at least three rounds of treat-filled games before calling it a night. His latest obsession? Wrestling with his younger brother, Baker, the neighbor’s dog who keeps him feeling young at heart.

Odin, you’re proof that love and second chances make all the difference. Here’s to many more adventures ahead! ❤️🐶

For National Senior Pet Month, we’re thrilled to introduce our last pup, Ziggy Mack, a sassy, talkative 11-year-old Rat Terrier mix with a big personality! Ziggy’s pastimes include taking naps, playing fetch, and sharing his opinions on walks. Tennis balls are his true love, and he dreams of French fries and cheeseburgers all day.

Rescued three years ago at 8 years old, Ziggy’s been living his best retirement life with his loving family. Here’s to many more adventures with this lovable old man! ❤️🐶

For National Senior Pet Month, we’re thrilled to feature 13-year-old Curby, the ultimate emotional support buddy and beloved “King Curby” of all of our staff! His journey began in Miami, FL, where he was rescued at about 1 year old. Found by a little girl near a grocery store curb, Curby got his fitting name from that moment—and it stuck!

By age 3, Curby was living his best life in the Pacific Northwest, embracing new adventures with his trademark enthusiasm. He found his second home at DDL, and during the challenges of COVID, we became a refuge for Curby and his family, and he brought comfort and joy to everyone around him. His daily daycare visits continue to brighten the lives of staff and pups alike.

Curby, your loyal, loving spirit and knack for bringing happiness make you the true king of hearts. Here’s to you, King Curby, and the joy you bring to everyone you meet! ❤️🐶👑
