Enter at your own risk!! π»
Be safe and please follow these pet safety tips:
π Keep your pet inside
Noise, strangers, constant door opening and closing can be scary for pets, and open doors pose a high risk of bolting. You can keep your pet in a quiet room away from the front door.
π·οΈEnsure your pet has identification
Make sure your pet has a collar with tags and microchip.
π« Keep candy away
Store candy in a secure place where your pet can't reach it. Chocolate is toxic to pets.
π₯·Avoid certain costumes
Costumes can be stressful for pets and can make it difficult for them to move, see, and breathe. Small pieces can also be a choking hazard.
π·οΈ Be careful with decorations
Fake decorations like spiders can make pets nervous.
π Give your pet treats
You can give your pet treats made specifically for them on Halloween.

A fabulous family adventure!! β€οΈ alumni Gio and fur brother Dillon had a blast exploring the great outdoors of Island Park Idaho. Just thinking back to when Gio was surrendered with IVDD. This is what rescue is all about. β€οΈ
Mom Olivia shared with us that Buddy (Ruben's bonded brother) passed away peacefully. We are so very grateful that Buddy, despite his health challenges, lived a beautiful, loving life. Rest easy sweet boy. π
Ruben thankfully has Gypsy to help soften his grief. π
Our one and only rescue kitty is fondly remembered on #tbt. "Bernie" was just weeks old when he was found alive in a burn pile. With burns to his ears, nose, whiskers and paws, he healed completely and was adopted by his foster family. Affectionately called Bern Bern, he is now 8 years old with the most awesome personality!!

It's Tongue Out Tuesday with the adorable Kizzy!! Show us your pup's tongue.
Kizzy is settling in and figuring things out on her time. Healing and decompressing from grief and having to start over, especially for seniors, is extremely difficult. Factor in the shelter, and it's nothing short of traumatic. It's important to approach their new journey slowly, one day at a time, allowing the dog to get back to a neutral and relaxed state of mind, opposite of what it just came from.
Only two weeks after leaving the shelter and her foster family provided this update: Kizzy is becoming very comfortable with our other dogs and with us. She loves couch cuddles and getting belly rubs. We have left the house occasionally for several hours, with no issues. She is a real sweetheart!! Has a kind, happy face and wants to be the center of attention. Her personality is coming out and is not afraid to tell you when she wants something.
Welcome Brynn to our family! This little 7 lb. brown and black dapple beauty was brought to the shelter when her guardian moved. Since Brynn was so fearful, the shelter felt it was in her best interest to be transferred to an experienced dachshund rescue. We're so thankful they reached because Brynn can have her best life with a doxie savvy home that understands her and the breed.
Brynn, 2 years old, was never socialized, shown kindness or saw a vet (ever). This week she'll be spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and her nails trimmed while she's under anesthesia (they've never been cut).
In her short few days with her temporary foster, Brynn has shown that with love, patience, gentleness, positive force free training and time, she is letting go of her past behind and blossoming into a happy, snuggly, trusting girl. π€
