Rainier Veterinary Hospital is committed to keeping you informed about the recent cases of Avian Influenza A (H5N1), commonly known as Bird Flu, and its impact on pets in our region.

Investigations by state health authorities have connected recent Bird Flu cases to raw pet food diets. Affected pets had consumed products from two now-recalled lines:

▪️Northwest Naturals (Oregon)
▪️Monarch Raw Pet Food (California).

What Can You Do?
▪️ Bird Flu is highly pathogenic and can cause severe illness in pets. In many cases, symptoms progress rapidly and can be fatal.
▪️ We encourage pet owners to stay diligent, especially if your pet has had exposure to raw diets or sick/dead birds.
▪️ Monitor your pets for signs of illness and contact us immediately if you have concerns.

More information on the flu, prevention tips, and symptoms to watch for is included in the graphics. Your pet’s health and safety is our top priority. Stay vigilant.

Rainier Veterinary Hospital is currently seeking full-time Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVT) and experienced Veterinary Assistants to join our team. We are a veterinarian-owned, progressive, established veterinary practice in downtown Seattle. We are AAHA-accredited and call our brand-new, state-of-the-art hospital home. Candidates must be able to provide excellent customer care as well as perform the duties necessary to support the clinic and assist our veterinarians. We are a privately owned four-doctor practice offering compassionate, affordable veterinary care for dogs and cats of all ages. Our routine services include wellness exams and preventative care, vaccinations, geriatric care, and diagnostics including X-rays, ultrasound, and blood testing through an advanced local laboratory. In addition to routine care, our doctors perform many types of surgery, including spays, neuters, growth removal, and dental procedures. For your convenience, we also offer a variety of commonly-used medications, medicated pet shampoos, flea and tick preventatives, prescription pet diets and medications available only through a veterinarian. Rainier Veterinary Hospital has served the pets of Seattle for over 80 years. We offer a high standard of care in a welcoming, down-to-earth environment. Our doctors and assistants treat your pet as they would their own - with patience, understanding, and a caring touch. From youth to "Golden Years," we provide the medical care to keep your pet healthy and happy a whole life long. We're very happy to have you as a visitor to our page.
