King County’s love for our pets is no secret. And so many pets means a lot of pet-related businesses! That’s where our Pet Business Program comes in – to keep pets safe & prevent the spread of diseases, we permit and inspect over 500 pet businesses (groomers, day cares, kennels, etc.).

SCAM ALERT!!
We have been made aware of a scam in which folks who have filed a lost pet report receive a call from someone pretending to be an employee of the shelter, stating their lost pet is critically injured and in need of surgery, and requesting a deposit in order to move forward with surgery. Please know that Seattle Animal Shelter does not require advance payment for sick or injured animals in our care! We take the care of our animals very seriously and would not ask a distressed pet owner for a deposit for their sick or injured pet.

Now through this Saturday, you have a chance to help connect pets in our care with critical resources by contributing to the shelter's pet supply and donation drive. The drive is part of Mayor Bruce Harrell’s call for a One Seattle Day of Service.

Calling all ! Adoptable Theon wants to be the only guy in your life. Let’s face it, some dogs have traumatic histories that make it so they’re not a fan of male-presenting folx. We know it limits the homes these pups can go to, but we are confident there’s someone out there for Theon. Come meet him every day except Monday and Friday from 1-5pm!

Meet Alabama and Monroe TODAY from 1-5pm at Seattle Animal Shelter!

While we’re all about here at SAS, this level of in a domesticated cat can have serious health complications, such as diabetes, fatty liver syndrome, and arthritis. Both ladies are looking for a new home to relax, eat a balanced diet, and return to more healthy cat-sized weights.

Reading my sci-fi fantasy novel to Gigi ❤️

Gigi’s world was turned upside down when her owner passed away unexpectedly and she ended up in the shelter. She has been through so much and is very stressed here. As you can see, she’s just waiting for someone to give her a chance to decompress and be the best dog she can be. Come meet her every day except Monday and Friday from 1-5pm at Seattle Animal Shelter, located at 2061 15th Ave W in Seattle!

Athena has been available for adoption since she came to us 49 days ago. She is soft and wiggly, loves treats, and is down for any new adventure as you can see. She is a senior lady but that doesn’t get her down. She wants someone to pal around with and just enjoy life. She has true and vibes going on!
