Heartland Pet Rescue

Foster based pet rescue operating with Heartland Cat Rescue. We take in owner surrenders, and strays. We are a volunteer foster based rescue.

We take in owner surrenders, and strays through animal services. All dogs are microchipped, completely vetted, and spayed/ neutered prior to adoption. All adoption fees and donations go towards vetting costs. Here at Heartland Pet Rescue our goal is to decrease the number of dogs surrendered to animal services and ultimately find loving forever homes for each of them.

We have another puppy that is looking for her forever home. Miss Holly will be 4 Mo old on Dec 26th. She is very sweet, good with little kids and other dogs. Holly is up to date on vaccinations and is waiting on her spay date. She is a mix breed and will probably be a large dog.
Let us know is you would like to set up a time to meet little Miss Holly.

Update on Rae Rae :
She had her surgery for cherry eye and it was successful !!!
She is two years old, spayed, UTD on all shots and heart worm negative.

UPDATE: All puppies have pending adoptions. These are the 4 puppies that we took on Sunday. A very nice lady bought them all off FB so that she could get them into a rescue. We said of course we would help!
Meet Taylor, Kelsey, Travis, and KC. They are 10 weeks old and are Australian cattle dog mixes. They will be medium sized dogs. They are in a foster home with other dogs and are fat and sassy. If you might be interested or want more info just let us know.

We took in 4 adorable Australian cattle dog mixes puppies on Sunday. 3 girls and 1 boy! These will be medium sized dogs. Stay tuned for more pics later today!

Dolly is My newest baby that joined our pack today.
30 minutes after I got her she jumped a 6 foot privacy fence.
That was fun !!! NOT
Dolly will be up for adoption soon.
Day two Dolly is a Velcro girl.
She will come running when I call her.
No need to jump a 6 foot fence.
She is home.
Adjust very fast.

We are supposed to be taking in 4 new puppies tomorrow and we will so stay tuned for pics… but when someone calls about a Great Dane that needs some help at AS of course, we are going to help!
Bean is a 9 Mo old black Great Dane “puppy”
Almost 80 pds but is still a little underweight and very sweet. Her biggest problem is a significant soft tissue injury to her right hind foot. You can see it in the first pic. It is very swollen and seems to be infected but she will still walk on it off and on. I gave her some pain meds and I will see what Dr Larry wants us to do. We were blessed that she had pledges through AS and will see what will be needed as far as her injured foot. 🐾💗🐾

GREAT NEWS DAKOTA HAS BEEN ADOPTED.
Dakota is a beautiful female yellow lab looking for a new home for Christmas.
We were contacted by an elderly gentleman whose daughter died of cancer and left Dakota behind.
He asked multiple places to help him but everybody said they were full. Some of it may have been the large open wound on her shoulder that wasn’t very pretty. We took her in because she needed to have her wound surgically taken care of and we also wanted to help the elderly gentleman.
SAH worked with us to get Dakota into surgery as soon as they could. We will not be sharing the before pics. Her surgery went great and she went to a wonderful foster home to recover.
Dakota is about 3 years old and she is very mellow. She gets along with other dogs, kids, and cats. She is about as close to perfect as you can get!
We had wonderful people who helped us cover the cost of her surgery and we found out that she was already spayed! We do not need donations for Dakota but we do need a wonderful forever home for this sweet girl.

We have several puppies and great adult dogs who will be available for Christmas. We would like to remind people that puppies and dogs are lifetime commitments. Please think about the time and care a puppy needs and decide if your family is ready for that kind of commitment.

This is Holly (female) and Cole (male) they are 3 1/2 Mo old siblings and are catahoula mixes. They are very sweet and friendly. They get along with other dogs, cats, and kids. They ride very well and are doing well with potty training.

This is Schatzie he is an 11 Mo old purebred German Shorthair Pointer. He is a big boy and very active. Definitely needs a home where he can run and play. He gets along great with other dogs and rides very well. Call Dennis his foster dad for any questions 863-214-6690

This is Rae. She is about 1-2 yrs old a catahoula mix and was abandoned in a garage when her owners moved away. The landlord found her a week later when they came to clean the house and asked us to help her. Rae is very sweet and had a cherry eye when we took her in. She had surgery about 2 weeks ago and her cherry eye was corrected at the same time she was spayed.
Rae gets along with other dogs and kids. Rides very well. Call Dennis the foster dad if you have any questions 863-214-6690

This is Brighton. He is about 6 Mo old and is a red nosed pitty. He is very small for his age (about 28 pds) and came to us very emaciated and neglected. He lived in a small kennel with no food or water and had to stand in his own waste. He is a healthy weight now and has gained strength in his legs and feet. He is very friendly and very mellow. Gets along great with other dogs and kids. Once in awhile he decides he doesn’t want to share his food but that’s understandable given the situation he was in.
Brighton rides very well and will make someone a wonderful family dog and playmate for kids.

Teddy is helping us out by letting us use his pic to show you what his sister looks like. The previous owner has asked us not to post her pics but this sweet little girl is 4 months old and is a chi/poodle/sh*tzhu mix so she will stay small.
She has curly white hair and gets along with other dogs, cats, and kids. She is doing good with potty training and rides very well in a car. Call Dru for any questions 801-657-1303
