After 2 decades of being a full time farrier, it's pretty common to develop long term clients and even longer term horses that just switch owners. Yesterday, I shod Shadow for my last time as he will be moving to the DC area in February. He has been in my schedule for over 9 years. He has been a practice horse for my CJF gos, building straight bars for a bilateral white line issue, and just recently for AFA Convention Contest practice as he wears 12" of 3/8x3/4 very well. I've watched this horse age gracefully over the last few years, survive colic surgery, a nerve damaging kick to the hip and a host of other horse related injuries. It's time for him to move on to the next stage of his life and I hope he is as good for the next farrier as he has been for me. Thank you Shelby for the opportunity to service your horses hoof care needs.
