Who was your first puppy? My very first PUPPY was Romeo, a Vizsla. Prior to Romeo, I had always adopted adult dogs through rescue groups. Romeo was a whole new experience! And what an experience it was. He was a whole lot of work those first couple of years but was also the LOVE of my life. That boy had my whole heart. ❤❤

Tell me about your first dog! My first dog of my own as an adult was Gunner, a retired racing Greyhound from Wisconsin. He was born 2/4/91. I adopted him in 1993 and lost him in 2000. He and I put in A LOT of miles hiking and walking. He loved to watch the sun rise on our morning walks. Especially on the weekends when I would have preferred to sleep in!

Muzzle training can be a good thing for all dogs, not just ones with certain aggression or handling safety issues. For some dogs, we definitely need to muzzle train them. For others, while it might not be necessary, it's still not a bad idea. Some of you have read a lot about Blitzen in The Blitzen....

We have lived our entire lives with dogs, been in business with The Light of Dog since 2003, and currently live on a farm with our dogs. We want to positively impact the lives of our dogs in the six major areas of their lives: (1) choosing our next dog; (2) providing quality, holistic-based healthcare, (3) positive reinforcement-based training; (4) high quality nutrition sourced humanely through organic and regenerative agricultural standards; (5) environmentally responsible, non-toxic products; and, (6) enjoying life and sharing our adventures with them. Through our business, we create content, services and products consistent with our standards in these areas. Our goal is to live life to the fullest with our dogs and aim to inspire others to do the same.
