The dryers used are quiet and thermostat controlled so that the atmosphere is kept as calm as possible. I groom all breeds and sizes, dogs and cats and have a general knowledge of animal behaviors and health concerns as well as maintenance tips. I advocate for pet adoption, and animal rights (especially against breed specific laws). My dogs (Deuce and Petey) think of me as "The Dog Goddess". :)

FYI, fleas are on the rise. I've had multiple new and irregular clients coming in with fleas lately. I hate them as much as you do, so here's my latest policy regarding them:
1. If you know that your pet has fleas, please treat them at home at least a week before grooming. Something proven (not flea collars. I don't believe they kill fleas). Keeping your pet treated this time of year is a great idea!
2. Inform me when you make the appointment so that I can schedule accordingly. Cleaning up during and after working on a pet with fleas is time consuming. Also, for the sake of other pets (including my own), it's just courteous.
3. If you honestly don't know, it's ok. Just know that your pet WILL get a good quality flea shampoo, soak and treated with Advantage. This has kept infestation at bay. I've never had infestation at Animal House Pet Grooming .
4. In the event there are more than 1 single flea, I will treat and here are extra minimal costs. Small (Chihuahua, shihtzu, Pomeranian)-10.00
Medium (cocker spaniel, Australian Shepherd, border collie)- 12.00
Large and extra large (Golden retriever, husky, Newfoundland)- 15.00.
If I need to use a lot of time cleaning up to prevent infestation, there may be a small extra charge (so it's better to treat them at home).

Me acclimating Trey Bae, Rescued Rottweiler to the traumatizing noises while watering the back yard some. When I first fostered this boy, this was my experience bathing him before we came home for good. He's just a big, goof. Not a mean bone in his body. Just a funny bone. 🤣

Good luck to the pups tonight. All of my previous rescues actually liked watching the fireworks. I think that was all before bottle rockets were sold to every household in Woolley. But Trey is very anxious, as they were shooting them right over his home and even caught the grass on fire last year next to the front door.
I'm using this to desensitize then play for the night. He will get CBD tincture, a Kong toy with peanut butter and will be tucked in his crate with the fan on. Windows closed. I will have a camera on the kennel that I can talk into. If it is bad, I can be home in 10 minutes. That's about all I can do.

I hate what the "bombs bursting in air" do to pets, vets and the environment. Specifically the neighbors who are unprofessional at best. I am leaving Trey's collar on 24/7 for now, even though he is a microchipped house pooch. I suggest that cats and dogs keep their collars on as an easy identifier to make things easier for our already busy overworked police and fire departments.

Sound sensitive pets tend to lose control during the 4th of July. The sounds of the fireworks send them into a fight or flight reaction, to where they are constantly looking for that source of sound.

I ❤️ Fergus so much that I can't express it enough. When I'm grooming him and tell him "good boy", he licks my hand, then does that chill pant, smile thing. He knows I love that. So then we start the cycle. "Good boy", lick, smile, repeat "Good boy", lick, smile... 🤣🥰 (he hates pics).

With the shelters being so full, I can't for the life of me, figure out why some vets started telling people to wait so long to fix their dogs/cats recently. Right about the time of covid and this new trend, shelters started bursting at the seams with pups. How sad that we'll never have enough homes at this rate. Good pups are just sitting there until their time is up. Locally, we have SPOT, NOAH, Because We Care, and so many others right here in this county. All full.
