TRAINING UPDATE:
We went and picked up Cindy from north Texas yesterday. Got a text from a transporter I collaborate with about a 2 coming 3 year old Morgan that had a trailering problem. Their comment was this horse "showed no regard for human life" when she broke in half once loaded. My response was of course at first, Gee Thanks π.
Got in contact with the owner and she agreed in the end to allow me to fix that bu****it and to put her through my C**t Starting Program. Owner in Ohio is awesome to do business with. They get it completely.
Below are the very first try at the trailer, and the unloading at my ranch.
First session with Cindy Lou. Started as an evaluation but evolved into a regular session. Young lady is smart and catches on quickly. Lots of sensitization mixed with desensitization. Her running over problem is mostly gone in that she still pushes in, but when she gets excited or scared, it isn't on top of me. We led from both sides, round penned with simply establishing direction, a go pedal, and a brake. Rarely do I go from evaluation to regular but I am not gonna waste our time when it is obvious she is ready to be challenged. No video or pics. My camera person was still sleeping. Hard to get good helpπ

but don't tell my wife I said that!!!! π€
This young lady, a Morgan Horse simply needed leadership and direction or she does her own thing. She led but how and when she wanted. She moved out how and when she wanted and if it got too hard her NO was to push in and run you over. First session and the run over is gone (though further training will tell). And now she looks for the answer to the question I ask and I help her find it as light as possible and only as hard as necessary. Rarely did I get to a good whack. She appreciated and with just one session, in a new place, is more relaxed.
Videos of training sessions to follow. She is here for 90 days.
