Sometimes s**t happens. No mistakes on ethir end, but we do have to remember that we are working with amazing animals that do have a mind of there own. Things happen that we don't expect I tested this horses feet watched him move and flex tested him before trying to put shoes on. Shoe that I was going to put on was a rim fit shoe and nail placement was in good spots. When I started to dive the nail to a point where the nail would not even stand up be it self the horse reacted. Tested everything again with no signs. While just laying the shoe on the foot and no nails tapped the shoe, the horse reacted. This is something where the owners will keep me updated on this horse, but with no signs of lameness, makes it where we have to take action to show that, that's not acceptable behavior. I little round pen work never hurts, but leaving it and not doing anything can get someone extremely hurt. Hope this is a teachable moment for some who may not know what to do with some cases, and also help give a little prospective. #rancho #farrierlife #horses

A little something that happen this past weekend that helped remind me and get more perspective. Thank God for my beautiful wife that can read me like a book and that's the peace in my life, that can all way bring my mind and body back home. This is something that's going to show some humility.
