--- Edit: She crossed the rainbow bridge at 5am. 🌈 She gave one last meow while we we feeding and let go. Thank you to everyone who prayed for her. She was showing so much strength before bedtime, but her little body had gone through too much. 😢 - - -

Little girl is having a hard time 😔. She has double eye infections and is now refusing to eat. We are getting her to drink milk replacer, only very slowly. It's going to feedings every half hour. Good news is she is doing number 1 and 2!

We are going to take her to the vet first thing on Monday. We are asking our supporters for help with potential medical costs. If y'all could spread this post so we can get her healthy and adoptable, it would be so appreciated. Pray for this little one, she's on a rough road.

Finn update! He's doing great. He found a friend in the other two brown dogs with black snoots we have here. He's coming out of his shell and man is he goofy. He loves to play and ruuuuuuuun. Finn has also introduced "howling time" in the afternoon which has been so much fun. 🙄 Joking aside he's doing great and we're grateful that we were able to save him.

Look who's done with his vet appointment! Thank you to our supporters for making this happen. ♥️♥️♥️

We still have a long road with Finn. He has that big scar on his left front arm that he seems to favor. Once he heals from his neuter, we're hoping we can raise enough money to get it looked at. He'll need an xray, along with bloodwork, to see if there anything going on inside. He's also going to need constant enrichment and love to cure his fear of people. Treasure is looking so good. Tank is almost completely clear from the bacteria imbalance. She's gained some weight and is not as skittish when being handled or hovered over. Even though red eared sliders are native to TX, she's too domesticated to release. She will be looking for a forever home towards the end of the month. We will be asking that whoever takes her on has all the appropriate equipment and her tank is sized correctly. 60 gallons is the minimum on her shell size.

Finn took a nice walk this morning and came out of his cage all by himself. He's also being curious and sniffing around.

What a beautiful way to say thank you. We are already feeling blessed in 2025.

My card was marked, but my fate was not sealed. It was my final hour and I got saved thanks to Liefie's Rescue. Brian came to pick me up this morning and I get to live.

Brian recorded a video of our trip home. I've included it in the comments of this post. I was still scared. I just wasn't sure whether this was a good thing for me. Once we started moving, I got to watch the world go by. I liked that.

When we got home, I was still pretty scared. I am in my warm crate for now. It's like a cave here with all the blankets around me. I'm trying to get used to pets from Brian. I love him, but I haven't always been treated kindly by people so I'm a little timid.

The barn cats are walking around being nosey. I'm just watching them. I hope we'll be friends one day.

I'm going to relax and get ready for 2025. This has been a life changing day for me. Brian keeps telling me how good my life is going to be from this point on. I trust him, but I'm going to take this one day at a time.

Happy 2025 everyone! It's a sunny, cool day and we're grateful that we didn't lose anyone to fireworks last night. I have Finn on a walkabout with me this morning. He's so handsome! We so look forward to working with him and showing him love and kindness. He's eating and drinking which is good. I'm hoping we can get 10lbs back on him. Stay tuned!

**Update on Finn**

Our new little boy is doing well. He doesn't want to come out of his cage yet and that's OK. Our barn cats are very interested in him and it seems like they don't interest him at all. Unfortunately, I don't think he's had a very good experience with humans in his life. We'll definitely be working on that with lots of love, toys, and treats.
