It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of one of our beloved clinic cats, Blue. He fought severe kidney disease for a long time until he couldn't anymore. He will be sorely missed đ
*Blue's story: we first met Blue back in 2012 when his original owner brought his to is for vaccines and to be neutered at around 6 mo old. By the following year he proved how much he loved food and hated exercise. As much as his owner tried to manage it, his heaviest he was 32 lbs. By 2022, he developed diabetes and was needing insulin and regular glucose checks. His loving owner made the devastating choice to humanely euthanize his as they were going to assisted living across country and had no one to help him with his medical needs. We decided to keep him here with us to manage his weight and diabetes then send him to a rescue. He quickly became part of the AMC family where he lost the weight with a strict diet and exercise and was no longer diabetic. But a life with these commodities cost him functioning kidneys. Even with daily care and medications, he told us it was time. We love and miss him everydayđ*
