We are a full service boarding and training facility located in Seligman, Arizona. For over 32 years Sunset Ranch owners Gary and Megan Bennett have been rehabilitating “un-trainable” horses and starting safe and dependable equines. Here at Sunset Ranch we use what we call “Natural Horsemanship”. To us this means using the natural instincts of the horse to cause our desires to become theirs. Our m

ethods of training are free from the use of force and fear based responses. We DEVELOP the young horse and teach the resistant horse to yield and eventually become an eager partner! We value the spirit of the horse and preserve each individual equine’s personality at all cost. Our training fundamentals are grounded deep in the teachings of many great horsemen including Ray Hunt, Tom Dorrance, Monte Foreman, Buck Brannaman, Clinton Anderson and Pat Parelli. Gary and Megan are constantly tweaking their methods to fit each horse/human pair. They believe there are many methods to horse training that work and it is the trainer’s responsibility to know enough to customize individualized training plans that fit each horse and owner combination. The Bennett’s also believe in having a good time with your horse! They’d love to show you around!

Our Story

We are a full service boarding and training facility located in Seligman, Arizona. For over 32 years we (Gary and Megan Bennett, owners of Sunset Ranch) have been rehabilitating “un-trainable” horses and starting safe and dependable equine partners for a large number of disciplines.

Here at Sunset Ranch we use what we call “Natural Horsemanship”. To us this means using the natural instincts of the horse to cause our desires to become theirs. Our methods of training are free from the use of force and fear based responses. We DEVELOP the young horse and teach the resistant horse to yield and eventually become a willing or even eager partner!

We are students of the horse and are constantly tweaking their methods to fit each individual. There are many methods to horse training that work and it is the trainer’s responsibility to know enough to customize individualized training plans that fit each horse and owner combination. We believe in having a good time with your horse, and we love to meet new friends, so please stop by when you are in the area! We’d love to show you around!
