It’s a balmy 44 degrees in the barn here, all horses are going out for a short time, and have extra electrolytes. Please feel free to hand-walk as we get through this weekend of brutal cold! All driveways are plowed out, and the sledding hills are available 🧤 ☃️

Rest assured that all four-legged friends were ridden, lunged, or turned out prior to the rain beginning. Our back-up water supplies are filled in the event that we lose power. Outdoor pumps are ready to go to have our “dry lot” turnouts back in use by tomorrow, no matter what. Please be safe tonight and know that it is not imperative to get to the barn.

We had an awesome day with our Holiday Horsemanship Camp. The beautiful thing about this sport is that no matter how much we think we know, there will always be more that we don’t. We had some super campers today who learned about fats, proteins, and fibers in feed, who clipped legs, who learned how to properly bathe, cooler, and hand walk until dry, and who may have tackled one another while jumping courses on foot in the indoor…we did all the things! It was a long day of learning, and certainly not without fun!
