Project PUP-Pets Uplifting People Since 1984, Project PUP has been certifying pets for work as therapy animals for visits to schools, libraries, assisted living facilities and hospitals.

PUP stands for "Pets Uplifting People." The group is a nonprofit charity of about 400 volunteers. Most of the visiting pets are dogs, but there are a few friendly cats, and now and then a rabbit or even a ferret.

-Screenings are held at the Palm Garden of Pinellas-200 16th Avenue, SE, Largo for prospective PUP animals on the 2nd Saturday of odd-numbered months. Upcoming dates are: March 11, 20

HALLOWEEN ON CENTRAL RETURNS!

Ye who seek thrills and chills, prepare to be enchanted! Grab your brooms and your wands, and join us for a spooktacular time in St. Pete. Dress in your most mystifying attire and embrace the spirit of the season. Witches and warlocks, ghouls and ghosts, all are welcome to partake in this diabolically delightful celebration.

Central Avenue is shut down for a car-free, family-friendly event, filled with music, dancing, costume contests, roving entertainment, food, local shopping, and of course, CANDY!

The event is organized by Grand Central and EDGE Districts, co-sponsored by the City of St. Petersburg and with the support of St. Pete Pride and LocalShops1. Grow Financial Federal Credit Union is the presenting sponsor!

There will be fun and games all over Central Ave, including rescue races at the Dog Bar and glass-blowing demonstrations at Imagine Museum! Here at LocalShops1, we partnered with S*K Promotions to put together the four-block Voodoo Vendor Village, We'll have almost 150 vendors on Central Ave, between 16th and 20th streets, including food trucks, snacks, and desserts, plus street performers, music, tarot card readers, photo opps, and of course, a Witch Walk & Dance!

The Rays are opening up some of their lots, for free parking, and the SunRunner is offering free rides all day!
