Fireworks are often frightening to our animlas! Please remember to secure your pets, make sure their collars with identifying tags are on properly, and consider walking them on a leash after dark! 💥

As we embark on this new chapter, we eagerly anticipate charting a course for the future while upholding the esteemed legacy that precedes us. Our new logo prominently features a fox, symbolizing the rich history of our hospital.

In addition to our commitment to growth, we are pleased to announce the expansion of our services. Our new logo showcases our dedication to providing veterinary care for a wide variety of animals, including dogs, cats, large animals, pocket pets, small mammals, and exotics.

This happy face belongs to Judy, a female bulldog who age is uncertain. Judy was found wandering as a stray, and our efforts to locate her owner over a period of months have been unsuccessful. Judy has a friendly temperament, but does not like other animals. We are also not certain how she is around children. For those reasons, we are recommending Judy be adopted into a home without other pets or small children. Judy's adoption fee of $100 includes lab work, current vaccination, her spay procedure and a microchip. Won't you give this sweet girl the loving home she deserves?

UPDATE - Joe has been adopted!! Though his name may be simple - Joe - this 1.5-year-old male neutered tabby has lots going for him when it comes to personality. He's calm, friendly, and while still adjusting to the shelter, willingly posed for pictures, eagerly rubbing his head against the photographer's arm and purring gently. Won't you give Joe a loving home? Joe's adoption fee of $85 includes lab work, current vaccination, and a microchip. Joe is already neutered and ready to go home!

We have a great new dog available for adoption! Grit is a neutered male retriever/lab mix who is about 9 years old. He's very smart, responding with alert posture and an attentive gaze when he hears his name, ready for whatever activity you have in mind. He adapts his walking pace to yours, as if he senses when you're ready for a brisk step or a more leisurely amble. Can you give this sweet older a fellow a home where he can live out his senior years at your side? Grit's adoption fee of $100 includes lab work, current vaccination, and a microchip.

A message from Dr. Roger Ross, founder of Animal Rescue Fund:

"To my wonderful friends and clients,

I have sad and also joyful news. After 38 years of taking care of sick and injured pets and finding homes for several thousand stray pets, despite a willing heart, I find myself unable to keep up with the physical demands of surgery and running a practice.

"In early January, I will be turning the practice over to a wonderfully kind, compassionate and able husband and wife veterinary team. Their names are Drs. Bre and Forrest Axson and they are very excited to meet each of you and care for your pets. Our present staff will be staying on and so will I in a very limited capacity.
I look forward to slowly retiring over the next few months and hiking our beautiful foothills with my dog Georgia and Deb, my sweet, almost wife.

I can't express how much I've enjoyed meeting each of you and your pets.

Hopefully I'll see many of you to say goodbye in person, but if not, God Bless each and everyone along with all the little creatures that rely on you for love and care.

Please welcome a simply gorgeous new cat who is waiting for adoption. Elgin is a soft-as-silk tabby with markings that make her a dead ringer for a Bengal. Elgin, a female, is spayed and about six months old as of November 9. Elgin's adoption fee of $85 includes lab work, current vaccine, and a microchip.

UPDATE - Foxy has been adopted!! This soulful-looking girl is Foxy, a 10-year-old female Chihuahua who was found wandering as a stray, but who has the sweetest personality! It makes everyone smile to see how she prances when she's taken out of her cage for a walk. While here at the shelter, she seems most comfortable around women, but tolerates men once she gets to know them. She also likes a chance to get to know other dogs slowly. We know that Foxy will make someone a wonderful pet! This is one foxy lady!! Foxy's adoption fee of $100 includes lab work, current vaccination, her spay procedure, a microchip and six months' worth of ProHeart heartworm preventative.
