Minnie just enjoying her red light therapy treatment after she got her feet’s done, a spa day if you will 🩷
Her main issue is intermittent haltering issues that we believe is due to pain in the TMJ joint on the left and some hyoid issues as well. She goes to show that even if you live with the massage therapist, it still can’t always be fixed like magic! They have to go through the steps to recovery just like if we had to go to therapy of any kind.

Here I’m using my hand cupped above the top teeth to activate the GV26 acupressure point which in this case I’m using it to help her TMJ issues but it has a grocery list of helpful aids!
You only have to be in contact with the point for a few seconds, however I also allow the horse to push on me and release their jaw for as long as they’d like.
This point can also be referred to as the “life line” because it is used to block adrenaline, producing a calming effect. It has been proven helpful in situations of seizures, promoting resuscitation and helping in cardiac arrest cases.
I use it in my face routine because it can help with the below listed problems.
•facial swelling/paralysis
•mouth and gum issues
•nasal infections
•TMJ
•fright/panic
•acute lumbar pain/benefits the lumbar spine
•can cause a cooling effect (help with heat stroke)
•clears the senses
•calms
Enjoy while Minnie enjoys her session 🩷
When you find the spot!
You’ll hear me say a lot that mares are easier because they let you know exactly what hurts or feels good and geldings typically stand with little to no emotion… not Buster! Any time I’d find a sore area he’d toss his head and/or somewhat guide me to the problem areas. Such a character! I obviously don’t want any of us hurt, no kicking or biting is acceptable but it does help me when they are able to express how they’re feeling! After this initial reaction he pushed into my fingers till my fingers couldn’t any more and wanted to mutually groom all at once ❤️

This guy has an undetermined stifle/ L rear leg injury from either a slip or possibly a kick. Some type of trauma none the less. I’m just part of his team to get him recovered but I was so happy to seem such an improvement after just an hours worth of work! I can’t wait to see him again and continue to help him heal! #triggerpointtherapy #equinesportsmassage #equinesportstherapy #stretchingexercises #stifleinjury #equinemassagetherapist #priceequinemassage
Note how before she tucked her tail some, attempting to guard the area. She also kept partial weight off this hind leg in another attempt to avoid me targeting the pain. After, her tail is open and waiting for more!
I don’t only do trigger point on her, she gets these sore muscles gone through as well!
This is my third time working on this mare in the past month. Remember that recovery takes time and consistency 💜

Mission “sore back no more” in progress!
Kolie went from “don’t touch me” to “please don’t stop” in just a few minutes!
There’s nothing I love more than a horse’s muscles simply melting under my hand! Especially one as tense as this mare!
Look how cute these are!! Thank you Momma's Down Home Creations!
These can still be purchased if y’all are interested in getting one for yourself! We both make a small profit off of them!
$25 for a 20oz tumbler with two lid options!
Working on a sore SI on one of my favorite clients ❤️
Thanks Kayla and Baby, it’s always an entertaining time 😂❤️

This little lady definitely enjoyed her massage today! I wasn’t able to get as much progress as I’d like out of one session but I was able to pin point some problem areas for her owner to work on 🥰
Signs of relief in horses:
Licking
Chewing
Yawning
Deep sighs
Farting/pooping

Boots is a highly guarded horse! She gets conflicted between keeping me away from what hurts and reacting to the release of tension. She will push into the pressure one minute then get mad I’m touching her the next 😅
If she truly didn’t want me there she could easily take me out, I promise!

When we get a deep tissue massage we understand there is usually discomfort followed by release. If only I could explain that to the horses!!
