Hello August !

This month we celebrate dogs (more than normal hehe) because it's National Dog Month! During the week of August 12th- 16th we would love to see all the pups in store for a special homemade goodie! Of course if your pup can't make it in we will send it home with you!

As for sales, they will be ranging from treats like Bocce to some of our favorite food brands like Ziwi Peak, Open Farm, Fussie Cat and more! Keep your eyes peeled for all the red sales tags!

🤗Let's set up our cats and dogs for success so they can feel safe and comfortable, and so we can enjoy the day without worry💙

One last tip for the 4th:

Make sure your pets have updated tags and microchips, and keep them inside. More pets go missing on the 4th than any other day!

Meet Jack Toast! This 10-year-old tripod is familiar with the aches and pains of aging. His parents use DGP, or Dog Gone Pain, daily to improve flexibility and mobility and to help manage the discomfort that comes with getting older.

We recommend using a combination of a glucosamine/chondroitin supplement (like Hip and Joint) and a CBD product (try Mobility Drops) in addition to DGP, to maximize pain relief and mobility for dogs who are older, or like Jack, also have a previous injury.

This month, with the 4th of July upon us, we will be talking about anxiety in our pets!🎆🇺🇲

We will be focusing on fear-based anxiety; but we think you'll find that these tips will overlap with some of the other forms of anxiety you may notice in your pets.

Stay tuned for tricks to distract and treat anxiety naturally, as well as a guide to help prepare your pets for fireworks on the 4th of July.

If you find that your pet is especially anxious, know that you're not alone! We do recommend speaking with your vet as well as a trainer/behaviorist, especially when it comes to severe separation or age related anxiety.

PREVENTION IS THE KEY TO NATURAL FLEA CONTROL!

Once a flea infestation takes hold in your home, it becomes very difficult to eliminate the problem with natural products. If you are looking to avoid pesticide use on your pets and in your home, take preventative measures now, even if you don't see any signs of fleas.

While indoor pets are safer from fleas than pets that spend a lot of time outside, it's still possible for one or two fleas to sneak their way in. One female flea can multiply into 20,000 fleas in as little as two months!

Washing pet bedding and flea combing pets weekly are great habits to get into, especially during flea season, but all year round, as well.

👨‍🎓 The first step to flea prevention is education! Fleas infest spaces quicker than many would think. Knowing the kinds of environments fleas prefer and what attracts them allows you to stay on top of potential infestations.

🐜 Flea eggs aren't sticky, and this means that they will fall off your pets when they move and scratch, fall off blankets and beds when shaken out, etc. Keep this in mind when shaking out potentially flea-ridden linens!

🧺 A flea's favorite spot is warm and close to a food source. Anywhere your pet spends time is the first place to start when treating your home for fleas.
