is a non-profit, all-volunteer, no-kill feline rescue. Heavenly Paws was started in June of 2004, by Angeline R. Behrendt is trained as a Veterinary Technician and has provided care for sick, injured, and homeless animals for many years in her home. She founded the shelter in 2004 to expand her services and to provide safe and secure homes for more cats. Heavenly Paws is not a true brick and morta

r shelter. We have a network of foster homes to care for the cats until permanent, loving homes can be found; offering a second chance of a lifetime of love and happiness. We also strive to help humans understand the importance of controlling the pet population through spaying and neutering. Heavenly Paws relies on private and corporate donations to help fund our rescue operations and accomplish our mission. We do not receive any government funding and no one in our organization receives any of the money that goes to our organization. All funds are used to properly operate the rescue and provide housing, treatment, and vet care for our cats and kittens. Sadly, due to circumstances beyond our control, not all of them make it, but every effort is made. We have treated and saved numerous cases of distemper, as well as other serious health problems, illnesses, injuries, and some of the most severe cases of neglect and abuse. Our volunteers are committed to make every effort to rescue as many cats and kittens off the streets as possible, provided that we have the space and funding. We take in cats and kittens, that if taken to other facilities would be euthanized without making any effort which is why we cannot take owner surrendered pets. We ask that those who want to surrender their pets do the right thing by finding the pet an appropriate home. We are more than happy to help by courtesy postings, but we cannot take a cat that is currently safe in a home, because we need the space for the sick, abandoned, injured, abused, and defenseless strays. There are thousands of animal rescue organizations, all working for the same purpose. We hope through our efforts, we will make at least a small difference, and save a few lives in the process. With your support, we can continue to accomplish this mission. Since our inception in 2004, Heavenly Paws has rescued, rehabbed and found loving, forever homes for 400-500 cats each year. HEAVENLY PAWS ANIMAL SHELTER, INC is a Pennsylvania non-profit corporation organized under Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Hello from these adorable siblings who came to foster mom at just 2 days old with their sister who was adopted. These 2 are just wonderful kittens.

Stewie is a love bug always wanting attention and snuggles. Stormie is a relaxed little sweetie. They love other kitties in foster home so would be great if you already have friends for them. Dogs ok and kids definitely yes!! They are up to date age appropriate vaccines, negative for FIV/FeLV and spayed/neutered m certificate included with their adoption. Oakley has a playful spirit and loves the feather wand. Oakley will sometimes hiss when he feels uncertain about his situation or doesn't feel secure. It doesn't take him long to regain his confidence and turn on the charm. He is a handsome guy with the sweetest face and the softest fur.

OUR 2ND ANNUAL SPAGHETTI DINNER IS LESS THAN 5 WEEKS AWAY!

Please join us at our 2nd Annual Heavenly Paws Animal Shelter, Inc. Spaghetti Dinner on Sunday, July 21st from 3p to 5:30p at Alert Fire Company (3118 North George Street, Emigsville, PA 17318).

All you can eat for $10 adults and $5 children (10 years and under). Dinner will include spaghetti and meatballs (or no meatballs if vegetarian), breadsticks, salad, dessert and beverage. We will also have a 50/50, door prizes, raffles and more!

Here is our eighteenth raffle item - nail kit donated by Heather Spangler.

July is in the middle of kitten season and we will need lots of kitten and adult food, litter and cleaning supplies. For every 3 items donated to us you will receive an extra door prize ticket!

Lightning (24-512) is 4 months old. He is currently in foster care. He is up to date on all his vaccine and has recently been neutered. He is your typical active kitten who loves to play. He gets along with other cats. Not sure about dogs.

Meet the Trash Bag Bandits. Their mama gave birth to them in an industrial garbage bag on someone’s porch that had garden clippings in it. The wonderful neighbors contacted us and helped us trap mama and the babies. The babies are now 11 weeks old. They are both little boys. They are extremely playful and social and love attention. Three brothers already found a home.

MEET RIPLEY!

Ripley (24-082) is around 1 to 2 years old. She was recently spayed and had some dental work done so she does not have too many teeth left. She does have a wound on her side that is slowly healing and was treated by the vets. She loves to play or lay on your lap and she doesn't mind being held. This poor girl has been through a lot. She had kitten and raised some other abandoned ones and is now looking for her forever home. And her cute little tongue usually is always out of her mouth. She does have a small white patch underneath her chin. She is currently in foster care and is up to date with all of her vaccines. She was also found with Twix and Kit+Kat in a box at the end of a Farmer's driveway in a box with 13 kittens.

Hi! My name is Colby Jack, a handsome orange and white boy. I’m about a year and a half years old. I come from a loving home, when I was a kitten I was homeless for the first couple of months until a friend had found me and carried me to the nearest vet and got me checked out. I’m currently updated on my all of my shots, I’m neutered.

I’m a very sweet boy who might be best by myself for a while as I’m a bit shy, but once I know you I’m a very amazing cuddle buddy and love to play around with my toys. I enjoy climbing and watching the birds around my window in the morning and watching the cars drive past at night, I’ll sit and watch the tv if you have it playing too! I need to be rehomed due to me having some issues with an older cat who was there before me so it’s my time to find something single wise and friendly!

Clearview Animal Hospital in Hanover (1035 High Street) is having a raffle for us during the entire month of June! Here are the 2 raffle items: a pet basket with a $50 Clearview Animal Hospital gift certificate and a yellow cat crochet blanket made by our foster Debbie! Raffle tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. 100% proceeds will go towards our veterinary expenses.

MEET SOPHIE!

Sophie (24-391) is a gorgeous, petite girl with the most beautiful blue eyes. She is about 2 1/2 years old. She showed up at a volunteer’s house hoping to be fed, and shortly introduced her 3 kittens.

Sophie loves looking out windows. She delights in playing with her toys, especially chasing balls. She is also entertained by watching cat dvds!

She welcomes being petted on her head and down her back. Scratching her cheeks especially pleases her, but she prefers not to be picked up.

She has been near other cats, but can’t tell if she likes them. She doesn’t seem bothered by a calm older dog. She has never met children. She has been spayed, vaccinated and tested.

Gregorny and Mesothelioma are 4 years old spayed and neutered kitties who are up to date on their vaccines.

Details:
We’re looking for an indoor home for a pair of adult cats.

These ~bonded~ kitties are around 4 years old, microchipped, spayed/neutered, and up to date on wellness exam/ vaccines/ flea prevention.

Mesothelioma (black, female, 9 lbs):
- Shy but warms up
- Loves to be brushed and pet
- Vocal!! Will stare into your soul and scream until you give her attention
- Good with dogs

Gregorny (red tabby, male, 13 lbs):
- Social & friendly
- Good with other animals
- Asthma, controlled on a once daily pill (Prednisolone)
- Playful, especially with catnip and crinkle toys

If we were able to keep these two, we would in a heartbeat. They have both been diagnosed with feline leukemia (FeLV), which is contagious to other cats through grooming, shared bowls, litter boxes, etc. Neither cat is symptomatic, both have otherwise been given a clean bill of health from the vet! They will still need routine annual exams and bloodwork.

Currently they are being quarantined in a spare bedroom, but we know this isn’t ideal long term. We’d like to find them a home where they have space to run, play, and get as much attention as they deserve. Their supplies will go with them (bowls, litter boxes, toys, bed, scratching post, and cat tree).

OUR SPAGHETTI DINNER IS IN 5 WEEKS FROM NOW!

Our Spaghetti Dinner is 5 weeks from now on Sunday, July 21st from 3p to 5:30p at Alert Fire Company in Emigsville. Tickets are $10 for adults, kids (10 and under) tickets are $5. It’s an all you can eat spaghetti dinner and includes salad, dessert and beverages too.

TOAST AND JELLY HAVE A VIDEO! Toast (24-441) and Jelly (24-442) would love to stay together if possible but can be adopted separately. Toast is little black boy and Jelly is the tiger girl. They are about 4 months old. Sadly, they came to us with severely infected and damaged eyes that had to be removed. They both had their left eye removed and are doing wonderful. Jelly is extremely outgoing right away and loves to follow you around and have constant attention. Toast loves the attention as well. They are great pair who are spayed and neutered. Moon is a neutered 3 year old male tabby who is Feline Leukemia (FeLV) positive. He cannot be with FeLV negative cats but can be with ones who are FeLV vaccinated.
