Good afternoon,

We would like to begin by expressing our deepest condolences for the tragic loss of a dog at a local grooming salon in Lincoln recently. We understand that incidents like these are heartbreaking for pet owners, and our thoughts are with the affected family during this difficult time.

Here at The Alps Bark Park, the safety and well-being of pets is of utmost importance to us, and we strive to ensure that every grooming session is carried out with the highest level of care and attention to detail. We want to take this opportunity to reassure you about the safety measures we have in place at our salon, and inform you of some new ones we are implementing.

First and foremost, we never leave a dog unsupervised during the grooming process. Our professional groomers are trained to provide constant supervision, ensuring that your pet is always in a safe and secure environment. We understand that accidents can happen, which is why we take proactive steps to prevent any mishaps.

Additionally, we recently began using "Trach Savers" (photo included) to provide trachea protection during grooming. These specially designed accessories help safeguard your pet's airways while we perform any grooming procedures that may potentially pose a risk. This is an extra layer of protection that helps to ensure that your beloved pet remains safe and comfortable throughout the grooming experience.

By implementing all of these safety measures, we are able to offer a grooming environment that is both safe and secure for every pet. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of pet care and safety, and continuously seek ways to improve our practices.

On top of that, our team undergoes regular training to stay updated on the latest grooming techniques and safety protocols. The Alps Bark Park Groom Room is dedicated to providing a nurturing and caring experience for each and every pet that visits our salon. Your trust and the well-being of your precious furry family members are our top priorities.

We want to thank you for choosing our salon and placing your trust in us. If you have any further questions or concerns regarding our safety measures or any aspect of our services, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We are here to address your concerns and provide you with the peace of mind that your pet is in the best hands possible.

Thank you again for all of your loyalty, support, and feedback. We look forward to continuing to serve you and your beloved pets.

With love,
The Alps Bark Park Family

Did you know these cold temperatures and dry air can dry out paw pads causing soreness, chapping and cracking? De-icers can also cause irritation or chemical burns, including salt burns on dog paws. Your pup can develop painful sores or infections, especially if they lick or chew their paws in response to the cold or chemicals.

It's important to take care of our furry friends feet during the winter. Use boots if they will allow it, be mindful where you walk them, keep time outside in extreme temps short. Use paw balm to help treat irritated paws.

We offer a new paw soak treatment for dogs that have paws that have been affected by the winter weather. This is also great for dogs with allergies or arthritis!

If you, like many others, like your doodle to keep a longer coat, check out the brushing chart below. In terms of brushing, green is the easiest and mats the least. Yellow zones need attention at least once a week, depending on length and your dog's activity level. The Red Zone of every Doodle or Poodle mix needs regular line brushing. Brushing is necessary more frequently with a longer coat.

A mat prevention program does more than just prevent mat damage and save you money on de-matting costs. Mats are painful and can cause bruising, hot spots and may lead to skin infections.

Contact us if you'd like to learn more about caring for your doodle's coat. We offer free one-on-one classes up to 30 minutes where you'll learn the best tools, how to brush correctly, how to prevent mats and how to deal with them. This is open to all breeds.

Miss Benelli stopped by today and had a message to share with everyone. Shed Happens! She's not the only one who has been blowing their coat late this year. Most of the heavy shedders this year didn't seem to start until July or August. So if you're still dealing with tufts and tumble weeds of dog hair taking over your home give us a call! We'll get your furry family member to a much more appropriate level of furry!
