Everyone meet Hank & Moose our two newest additions to the Blue River family! 😍 After only two days we’ve received this feedback about these boys from volunteers:
“Softest coat ever”
“Looks and feels like a baby seal”
“So sweet”
“Greets dogs with tail wags”
“No barking at other dogs through the fence”

Can you say perfect gentlemen?! We hope these guys find their perfect homes soon! Are you interested in meeting Hank or Moose? Come out and see us Thursday-Saturday 1-5pm! 🥳

What an amazing day at BRPR! Teddy finally found a home that we believe to be a great fit for him 🥹and Letitia was adopted and is going home to another Blue River Alum! 💙

These two kicked off a great start to our January bingo card!! We just need 3 more cat adoptions and 5 more pup adoptions to mark those bingo squares off! Who’s going to help us accomplish one of these squares? 🎉

Update: still no applications for PePe 😔

🚨Where are all of our small dog lovers at?! Come out tomorrow (Saturday) to meet the petite and VERY adorable PePe. 😍 This boy is a huge cuddle bug, looks very handsome in a sweater, and loves to play with his friends in the yard (when it’s not 10 degrees out that is)!

Pepe and all his friends will be waiting for you tomorrow! We will be open from 1-5, weather permitting.

We hope to see some new faces and complete a few adoptions! We’d love to kick off the first weekend of 2025 with some successful adoption matches! 💙

✏️ We are SO excited to announce a new program starting this year at Blue River! ✏️

We are searching for elementary school classrooms in the Lincoln/Seward/surrounding areas who want to “adopt” a pet for the semester! 🐱🐶

There will be LOTS of fun to be had! From writing letters and making posters of your “adopted” pet, receiving weekly updates, a special meet & greet, and even a celebration party when they get adopted. 🎉

If you or a teacher you know may be interested in joining our new program, please reach out today! We are looking for 2-4 more classrooms to join us this semester.

Opie is a 8 year old neutered male Rottweiler. He is good with all dogs besides unneutered males. He was trained professionally at one year old. He has traveled the entire county with his current owner, loves babies and kids and has been extremely socialized his whole life. He will chase cats, and loves to swim.

📣 This year we would love to introduce you to the people that make everything possible here at Blue River! 🐈🐕

From volunteers, fosters, and board members we are all one big team that works together for the betterment of the animals! 💙

For our first introduction we couldn’t think of anyone more fitting than our president Sabryn!

Sabryn has been on Blue River’s board of directors since early 2021 and has been President since April of 2024.

Sabryn’s why: “I got involved with rescue because animals have always been a passion of mine, since I could walk and talk. It is incredibly satisfying to play a role in homeless animals finding their forever families, and knowing you can make a difference in their lives.”

Her fun fact: “I have several dogs of my own. I hunt with them, do game recovery in the fall, and dabble in various dog sports. I also do basic obedience training for the public.”

Thank you Sabryn for all that you do for BRPR! We couldn’t do it without you! 🎉

What an amazing end of year for BRPR adoptions! 💙

Our goal for January is 6 dog adoptions and 4 cat adoptions! Can you help us meet our goal? 🤞We’ll share more soon, but we can tell you we’re already off to an amazing start!

🎉 It’s 2025 and we are excited to release our first bingo card of the year!! 🎉

Once we reach “Bingo!” the pets in our care will receive some extra special treats! 😋

Cain sure loved playing with his Kong toy today! We stuffed it full of little treats and yummy peanut butter. 😋

These toys help make days (especially when the weather isn’t great) go by a lot faster! Licky mats, Kongs, and snuffle mats are perfect to enrich the lives of our dogs daily.

Currently we are in need of:
-licky mats (10)
-snuffle mats/balls (10-15)
-large kongs (2-4)
-medium kongs (2-4)

If you have any of these items that you’d like to donate our pups would be SO grateful! New or gently used is always appreciated. 💙

Sweetest boy Odin is ready for his forever home! 🏠 Odin is a long coated German Shepard, a year old, and has the most gentle soul. He has done well playing with our smaller dogs and has shown interest in playing with our bigger pups, though he can be very shy. Odin would thrive in a home that can shower him with affection, take care of his beautiful coat, and provide a playmate or some fetch time everyday! Stop by and meet Odin tomorrow from 1-5 💙
