Candy (now Jinx) and Merry (now Ophelia) have landed themselves in the purrfect family TOGETHER. Considering they did not show very well at their meet their family still instantly loved them and gave them some space initially and was patient. Fast forward a few days and they are doing zoomies around the house and purring. They have a doggie sister who is waiting patiently for them to decide she can join the club and play ❤️. Are you ready to make a difference in the life of a cat or kitten in need? By fostering, you provide a temporary, loving home while they await their forever family. It's a rewarding experience, and you’ll be giving them the chance to thrive in a safe and loving environment.

What Does Fostering Involve?

Providing a temporary home for a cat or kitten.

Giving them food, shelter, and lots of love.

Helping them become comfortable and socialized before adoption.

Vet care will be provided (at our expense), and you'll receive support from our team.

Why Foster?

Cupid is an adorable 4-month-old kitten with a sweet, shy personality. Though a little reserved at first, Cupid is playful and loves to explore her surroundings. She enjoys interactive toys and chasing after feather wands, and she’s especially fond of cozy spots to nap in. Cupid gets along well with other cats and has a gentle nature, making her a perfect companion for a multi-pet household. So, we are a little behind on the rest of our Thank You's from our Save the Strays 5k and Fun Run. Of course, we would like to thank Village Trappers for continuing to partner with us. Huge thank you to Even Kiel Racing and DQ Events for all their expertise! And of course, to all of our volunteers and the VT village for all their support. You guys made this possible.

Also, to all the runners and walkers THANK YOU! Our turn out this year doubled from 2024. We did not anticipate that but are extremely grateful and we hope to see everyone again next year!

We want to extend a HUGE thank you to each and every one of you that supported us for the 5K event for For Kitty’s Sake and Village Trappers.

It was such a wonderful experience to have you with us, whether you were running, walking, volunteering, or cheering on the participants. The energy and spirit of the event were truly heartwarming, and we’re so grateful to see so many people come together for such an important cause.

Thanks to your incredible support, all the funds raised will go directly towards medical expenses and TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) efforts for the cats in our community. This will have a significant impact on the lives of so many animals, and we couldn’t have done it without you.

Wanted: someone to give Kacy head scratches forever. ✨cue Sarah McLachlan music✨ Everyone that comes into our adoption center comments on how beautiful and affectionate she is. But in the time we've had her, we've only had one family put an application in for her. They ultimately chose another rescue to adopt from, so Kacy's hopes and dreams of a forever home were shattered. And it breaks our hearts because this is the second time she's been in the adoption system. See, she was adopted out as a cute little baby kitten a couple years ago (check the comments for baby pics). Then, last fall she was meowing at someone's door, presumably looking for food, shelter, and love... and a kind soul brought this malnourished, dirty, scared little girl to the vet. After a microchip scan, we were called and scooped her up thinking her family must be worried sick about her and we were excited for a reunion because it looked like she had been outside fending for herself for several months. But the family who adopted her either let her out or dumped her because they didn't want her anymore. So, no happy reunion for Kacy. After months rehabbing in foster that included long hours of trying to get her to trust humans again, she blossomed into the most affectionate cat, grateful for a second chance. Anyone looking for the sweetest little girl EVER. Sally is approximately 6 months old but a very petite little lady. She LOVES her people.....and belly rubs 😍. Our Story

For Kitty’s Sake is an all-volunteer, nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization. We work within our community to provide a safe haven, medical support, foster placement and adoptive homes for cats in need. We depend upon our foster parents, board members, veterinarians, and volunteers to care for our cats while they await adoption.

Our adoption process is thorough. We require vet references from all of our potential adopters and will do home visits and follow-up visits in most cases. For Kitty's Sake will take back any cat we have adopted out with no questions asked. We prioritize the health and well-being of each and every cat that comes to us and are proud to be one of the few local groups who will invest the time and attention to making sure that all of our cats go to homes in which they will be loved and well-cared for for the rest of their lives! Our goal is to ensure a quality life for each and every one of our cats.

For Kitty’s Sake relies entirely on donations and fundraising events to support our mission. Community support and involvement is crucial to our effectiveness. We could not achieve our mission without the dedicated assistance of our foster home providers, our adoptive families, our veterinarian and business partners, our volunteer network and our generous supporters.
