Merry Update!
It was a long day.🥴 Left home at 6:00 a.m. and made our way through crazy traffic to the clinic. Drop off was 8am. We arrived and staff took her inside and soon after, the orthopedic vet came out to speak with me. She was surprised how well Merry is getting around and besides her right leg splaying out a bit, she's cruising around like someone forgot to tell her she has a broken leg. She's always been putting a little bit of weight on it and walking. Of course, I've been limiting the activity by keeping her kenneled, but she's definitely using it. The vet explained she wanted to take another set of x-rays and take a look at things since her last x-rays were done shortly after the break happened.
The call came later they don't want to do the amputation right now. The orthopedic team came up with the plan to keep her kenneled, while giving light activity, and to have x-rays done again in 4 weeks. There's evidence of calcification already so they would rather take a conservative approach and see how things go. I believe her words were " we can always amputate, but we can't put a leg back on." We can't argue with that. 🤔 Besides x-rays, they gave her a pain injection since they were manipulating the leg quite a bit. We left there at 4pm to join the rush hour (more like hours!) drive home. She slept the whole ride like she just finished a pub crawl. ❤️
So we're going to do what they recommend and see how she is in 4 weeks. The amputation may still happen, but for now, we'll just go with their game plan for her. Although surprised by the appointment, we want what's best for her to have a long, happy and healthy life. However, that looks, we're here for the ride with her!

Foster Home Needed for Rusty & Max!

We are urgently looking for a loving foster home for **Rusty** and **Max**, two sweet cats who have had a rough start in life but still have so much love to give. Their current foster home isn't working out, and we need to find a new, safe space for them to thrive.

**Rusty** is a super friendly, affectionate cat who is **FIV positive** (feline immunodeficiency virus). Despite his condition, he's healthy and enjoys human companionship. He’ll be your best friend once he gets to know you and will happily shower you with affection! Rusty deserves a warm and loving home where he can feel secure and loved.

**Max**, on the other hand, is a bit more shy and scared. He’s had a rough time adjusting to new environments, and he’s looking for someone patient who can give him the time and space he needs to build trust. Max will need a quiet, understanding environment where he can learn to feel safe again. With a little patience, he will come out of his shell and show you his sweet side. 🐾

These two have had a difficult journey so far, after losing their original home when their owner fell on hard times. They’ve both been through a lot, but we know with the right support, they’ll both flourish in a caring foster home.

**We provide everything you need** – food, litter, vet care, and support. All you need to give them is your time and your heart.

UPDATE: ADOPTED!!!

Belle is a beautiful and friendly girl looking for her furever home.

She showed up to a TNR project site starving. After a couple feedings she came into the house and was definitely not feral.

She is approximately 8-10 months old. This angel has been spayed, had her rabies and distemper and is negative on the FIV/FELV combo test. She uses the litter box and is fine with the dog and cat (who hisses at her and she will walk away). She also let me clip her nails! If you want a love bug she’s your girl as she sits in your lap and rubs up against you for scratches. You can have fun with her since she likes to play with her toys. She is affectionate and will make a great companion. We couldn’t put her back outside so we were looking for her new family.

This right here is why we do it ❤️❤️

Ginger has been ADOPTED ❤️❤️
She came to us in May with her siblings.
Unfortunately, almost immediately Ginger started to exhibit signs of FIP. We began treatment which is costly but is now available in the United States.

Ginger did 114 days of treatment and 84 days of observation. So she was with us for almost 8 months total. She is feisty and a fighter. After being cleared for adoption she was posted on social media and received an application within 24 hours. Followed by a meet and they instantly fell in love. We initially did a foster to adopt just to make sure Ginger was the right fit. It only took a few days for them to say "let's make it official". She landed in an incredible family who she obviously fits right in to. She continues to spend her Sundays watching the Eagles game but now with her forever family 😻😻.

Wanted: someone to give Kacy head scratches forever. ✨cue Sarah McLachlan music✨ Everyone that comes into our adoption center comments on how beautiful and affectionate she is. But in the time we've had her, we've only had one family put an application in for her. They ultimately chose another rescue to adopt from, so Kacy's hopes and dreams of a forever home were shattered. And it breaks our hearts because this is the second time she's been in the adoption system. See, she was adopted out as a cute little baby kitten a couple years ago (check the comments for baby pics). Then, last fall she was meowing at someone's door, presumably looking for food, shelter, and love... and a kind soul brought this malnourished, dirty, scared little girl to the vet. After a microchip scan, we were called and scooped her up thinking her family must be worried sick about her and we were excited for a reunion because it looked like she had been outside fending for herself for several months. But the family who adopted her either let her out or dumped her because they didn't want her anymore. So, no happy reunion for Kacy. After months rehabbing in foster that included long hours of trying to get her to trust humans again, she blossomed into the most affectionate cat, grateful for a second chance. Anyone looking for the sweetest little girl EVER. Sally is approximately 6 months old but a very petite little lady. She LOVES her people.....and belly rubs 😍. Our Story

For Kitty’s Sake is an all-volunteer, nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization. We work within our community to provide a safe haven, medical support, foster placement and adoptive homes for cats in need. We depend upon our foster parents, board members, veterinarians, and volunteers to care for our cats while they await adoption.

Our adoption process is thorough. We require vet references from all of our potential adopters and will do home visits and follow-up visits in most cases. For Kitty's Sake will take back any cat we have adopted out with no questions asked. We prioritize the health and well-being of each and every cat that comes to us and are proud to be one of the few local groups who will invest the time and attention to making sure that all of our cats go to homes in which they will be loved and well-cared for for the rest of their lives! Our goal is to ensure a quality life for each and every one of our cats.

For Kitty’s Sake relies entirely on donations and fundraising events to support our mission. Community support and involvement is crucial to our effectiveness. We could not achieve our mission without the dedicated assistance of our foster home providers, our adoptive families, our veterinarian and business partners, our volunteer network and our generous supporters.
