Hi everyone ! 💜🐾

Unfortunately, I have decided to officially close Filthy Paws.

I’ve been unsure of how to say this and decided to go on a “hiatus” so I could organize my thoughts a little bit.

Firstly I’d just like to say that I appreciate every single client who has walked through my door; Dogs and humans alike!

I have shared with all of you that I work as a nurse practitioner full time, Tuesday-Friday. Around the holidays, I started struggling with keeping up with the demands of operating a business on the side while working full time. While I realize it’s a good thing that my business was successful and I’m proud of what I have accomplished, it has taken a toll on my body and my mental health to manage both a full-time career and a business.

I appreciate everyone’s support in this funny little journey I took over the last 6-7 months, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause as you seek out a new groomer.

Hey everyone! 💜 I know that I am way behind on posting any dogs from December- The holidays and flu season at work have been keeping me very busy. I needed a little break from social media, but I’m back at it and taking appointments!

My current availabilities are:
Saturday, January 7- 1pm, 4pm
Sunday, January 8- 10am, 1pm, 4pm
Monday, January 9- 10am, 1pm, 4pm

My buddy Nittany is still kicking! 🥰💜🐶 Nittany and her momma stopped by for a quick bath after their last trip when Nittany got to swim in the ocean! 🌊 She was a very good girl and her momma stayed the whole time. Luckily I had just boiled some chicken, Nittany was a big fan! 😂🍗 .

Weighing in at 99 pounds, Kaiser takes the cake for being my biggest client yet! This 6 year old German Shepherd shed so much!!!! 😂 He was very patient with me while I brushed him out, and incredibly easy to direct. If I put the slip leash on and pulled towards the ramp to get into the bath, he obliged with no contest! His mama came back to help me with his paw-dicure because he was a little nervous. No biggie, Kaiser! We all get scared sometimes! 👻 Thanks for coming! 🐶🛁💜🐾

Meet… Ben Kenobi! 🐶 His family contacted me thanks to my friends over at Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center! They had just adopted Ben and he was in desperate need of a cleanup! His whole crew came to the appointment and they were some of the sweetest people! I feel so lucky to be able to help prepare Ben for his new life in his forever home! 🥰 🛁🐾💜🎉 .
Louie (my dog) outgrew his skull hoodie, and Ben’s mama was worried that he might be cold after being shaved! So, a little hand-me-down gift from one Camden dog to another. 😇

This sassy senior is BELLA 💜🐾🐶 Bella is a 13 year old cocker spaniel! Her mama wanted to shave her nice and short, a little bit of a comfort cut! Bella was so well behaved and made grooming easy. Cookie and I had so much fun today at the grand opening event for Muttz and Meowz! 🐶💜🐾 We hope everyone else had a great time, too! This fidgety Fido is Winnie! 🎉💜🐾🐶 Winnie is a Yorkshire terrier mix and is about 2.5 years old. Winnie is not shy, she came right inside and was excited for treats and pets. I don’t think she stopped wiggling through the entire grooming process! This sweet girl had to go up in the sling to clip/file her nails and she didn’t love getting her face trimmed, so I did the best I could to get her all cleaned up. Winnie, you’re so silly and sweet! I hope to see you again next time!💜🐾💕🛁

Today we celebrate Gordon and Izzy two local pulls that have been waiting patiently for their forever families.
As we say goodbye to the month of September we are asking you to HELP these 2 great dogs by sharing this post.
Gordon, a Beagle boy mix was pulled from Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center and Izzy a Tree Walker Coonhound is a local owner surrender.
Both are very happy goofy dogs who love to play with each other and the other dogs in their foster home.
Both dogs are crate trained and walk good on a leash.

This extra extra sweet and gentle lady is Khavi ! Khavi stopped by a few days ago for a nail trim/grind and was a very good girl. Afterwards, she got a little spritz of doggy cologne and kindly posed for me to take some fun Halloween photos! 🥰🎃 I really didn’t think any dog was going to let me put the bat headband on…. Khavi, you made my dreams come true! Can’t wait to see you again! 🎉💜🐾🛁🎃

This silky sweetie is CHARLIE !💜🐾🥰 Charlie is an American Silky Terrier, which I had to Google that because I’d never even heard of that breed! Charlie looks similarly to a yorkie, but a little bit bigger. His dad wasn’t too picky about what he wanted for the haircut, so I did my best to trim him up, clean him up, and get him feeling good! I wish I could take credit for how smooth his hair looks, but that’s truly just his coat! Charlie, I hope to see you again! I hadn’t worked with a coat like yours before and it really taught me a lot! 💜 Thanks for coming! 🐾💜🎉🛁🐶

👩🏼‍⚕️My name is Krista and I am a nurse practitioner! I’ve been a registered nurse for over 8 years. I finished my master’s and have been working as a nurse practitioner in Primary Care for a Federally Qualified Health Center for the last year, and I am incredibly proud of the work I do! I’m also a dog/cat lover and I wanted to find a way to give back to my community. I don’t even remember how or why I decided that I needed to start grooming dogs, but I guess I’m a dog groomer now, and it’s already fulfilling my life more than I could have ever imagined!

🗓Because of my work schedule, I can only accept clients on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays.

💜FOCUS ON SAFE AND HUMANE GROOMING
While I want your dog to look nice when they leave the salon, my primary goal is that the grooming experience is as stress-free as possible! Safety is my number one priority, for both me and your dog, and I reserve the right to refuse a dog who I feel that I cannot groom safely.

☀️COMMUNITY SERVICE
When you support Filthy Paws, you support your community! I provide FREE services to shelter dogs and foster dogs. Just ask! I also donate a portion of my earnings to local charities and shelters.

📱📞OPEN COMMUNICATION
I provide owners with video and photos during the grooming appointment and keep you updated throughout the entire process. I set up my phone/camera on a tripod prior to putting your dog on the grooming table or in the tub. Again, safety first! If I’m not comfortable doing something with your dog, or the dog can’t tolerate part of the grooming process, I’ll notify you immediately.

🐶NO BREED RESTRICTIONS
I will never refuse a dog based on breed! If your dog is more that 50 pounds or struggles through the grooming process, I may need to ask you to stay to help me.

💸Tips are NEVER required or expected, but always appreciated. 😇

🐾I want your dog to leave my salon clean, smelling nice, and with a decent haircut (if applicable). I haven’t quite mastered *breed specific* haircuts, but I’ll always do my best to provide you with the haircut that you want! Every dog teaches me something new and I’m looking forward to what YOUR dog can teach me. These fluffy pups are one-year-old Trooper 💙 and five-year-old Lila! 💕🐾🥰 These little dreamboats came by today for haircuts. Why are they dreamboats? Because they were both a groomer’s DREAM 🫧🛁🫧 I loved working with these little snuggle muffins. I can’t wait to see them again next time! 🥰🐾🛁💜🎉

Remember Travis, my Homeward Bound donation groom? 🥰 Travis’s new owners saw his spa day reel, and the rest is history! He is nearly 9 years old, been in the shelter for almost 7 months, and one week after posting the reel about his grooming, he’s got a home! Congratulations, Travis! You deserve a loving home! 💜🛁🐾 ADOPTED 🥳

This schnazzy schnauzer is Eli! 🎉💜 He didn’t love getting his picture taken so his big sister stepped in to help. While Eli is a little love bug, he really doesn’t like being groomed! 😂 Mom and I talked and decided that the best thing for Eli was to get a good shave and start fresh. This isn’t a traditional schnauzer cut, but I did my best to get that schnauzer eyebrow 🤨 Overall, I’m still proud of how I did with Eli! I hope we can continue working together to help him see that grooming isn’t so bad. Thanks for coming out today, Eli! 🥰💜🛁🎉
