Oh Dayne 💔

Every single time we put Dayne back in his kennel, his face crumbles. His soft, sad eyes follow us as we close the door, quietly wondering why no one is taking him home.

Dayne is heartbroken. This majestic, sweet, and gentle 8-year-old boy has spent his entire life being a loyal companion—only to find himself now in a shelter totally confused.

After eight faithful years, Dayne’s entire world changed when his owner’s career shifted, forcing a move where Dayne wasn’t part of the plan. He was left behind, and you can feel the weight of that loss every time he leans into you for comfort.

He’s housetrained, crate trained, and well-mannered. He’s done well with respectful kids and prefers dogs closer to his size—small, bouncy dogs can be a bit too much for this distinguished gentleman. No cats for Dayne, but what he really wants is simple: a soft bed, gentle hands, and a family who won’t leave him behind again.

He deserves to spend his golden years loved and cherished, not sad and waiting.

Come meet him. You’ll see it in his eyes—he just wants to go home.

Every day, they watch their friends leave, tails wagging and hearts full. Yet, for these ten loyal souls, the wait continues. These are the longest residents of our shelter, overlooked and forgotten, longing for the love and warmth of a forever home.

Each of these dogs has a story to tell—a tale of resilience, hope, and an unbreakable spirit. They sit in their kennels, eyes filled with hope, wondering when their time will come. While others find their families, they remain behind, waiting for someone to see the love they have to give.

There are so many incredible homeless dogs like Okami waiting to meet you! Okami is a sweet 3-year-old guy with a heart full of love and a spirit that longs for a forever home. He has spent much of his young life waiting for the perfect family to come along, a family that understands he needs to be the only pet but will shower him with the affection he so desperately craves.

Okami's eyes light up when he sees children, and his tail wags with pure joy when he's in the play yard, chasing after his favorite ball. He's a smart boy who knows his commands and is always eager to please. Despite his playful nature, there's a quiet sadness in Okami's eyes, a longing for a place where he can feel safe and loved.

Every day, Okami watches as other dogs find their families, hoping that one day it will be his turn. He dreams of a home where he can be the center of attention, where he can curl up next to his humans and feel the warmth of their love. Will you be the one to give Okami the home he so deserves?

State Police Seeking Public's Assistance with Animal Cruelty Investigation

The New Jersey State Police is seeking the public's assistance in an animal cruelty investigation that occurred on the Garden State Parkway South, near milepost 119.4 on the local roadway in Aberdeen Township, Monmouth County.

On February 27, 2025, at approximately 11:00 a.m., troopers responded to the New Jersey Turnpike Authority’s Telegraph Hill Maintenance Yard for a report of animal cruelty. NJTA maintenance workers had recovered four large “Retriever” brand dog food bags on the Garden State Parkway South, near milepost 119.4, containing the remains of four deceased brown canines.

Further investigation revealed that the four canines were Pitbull mixes and had injuries consistent with dog fighting.
