I spent 3 days judging the Treasure Valley Test in Idaho last Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Enjoyed seeing old friends and meeting new folks. Great Chapter organizing to run smooth tests. It's nice to get home and mugged by Ugly Dogs!

Throw back Thursday! VW G***k when he got his new home with Steve Kevits family. I got to train G***k for Utility Test and got a Prize 1. Took Steve & his son Garret to Kansas to chase long tails. Garret shot his first pheasant over G***k and retrieved to hand. Great memories and thanks for sending me a photo Steve Kevits!!

Vom Woltjen Sadie for a cool swim this evening. Yesterday was 30 degrees and snowing & today was 62 degree and a blue bird sky. She & Sammy run Natural Ability in a couple weeks. First swims of the year training tonight.

VW Tucker 5 month old first bird contact made his first point on a pigeon. Jason Stitt at the controls. It was fun to watch Tucker head snap on bird sent for the first time and lock up. After the flush Tucker was watching the pigeon fly and circle and head to the house.

My "L" litter was a special for me. A breeders award litter with 112 scores and one Prize 2 high score. i kept two pups Lizzy and Lars and trained and were house pups. My brother John was leaving active duty with the Army and we got together to pheasant hunt. Lars and John hit it off and i sent Lars to live with his new owner.
This brought John into Navhda, hunting trips and lots of training. John was successful in running Lars in Utility and had great scores in all parts but a little shy of that Prize 1 due to duck search. They continued to train and hunt. They beat me every time in the Quail & Chukars classics with our Navhda Chapter over the years.
Lars, the son John had at home with his four daughters. The girls dressed up Lars for the holidays. Lars counter surfed a slice of pizza and brought to John to share! The clothes Lars swiped and hid through the house brought many laughs over the years. Lars developed dog like MS and was treated for several years with love and care of his family. Lars traveled over the Rainbow bridge today with his family beside him. Lars can run and hunt and point again with his Great Grandmother Oreo.

I promised to send you a picture and give you a report. You met Klemm this fall, he is Pennies #1 fan and she didn’t disappoint us. We had a rooster bull rush us and fly to the corn field east of where we were working our dogs this fall. We finished setting out our birds and started hunting the first two before we went after that bird. We assumed the rooster would work towards the fence row to the right so I told Klemm to go through the gate and up the fence row to line up with about where the bird had landed. Penny and I crossed the electric fence in order for her start tracking from the landing site. She picked up the trail and headed south towards Klemm 50yds or so turned west about for rows and went on a rock solid point headed towards me. I walked in her direction and spotted the rooster a good 30 or 40ft back north of her. Klemm and I were standing there with jaw dropping wander at some magnificent dog work. As you know not many people ever get to experience or are blessed with such good dog work. Thanks Steve, we are a couple of old Grouse hunters,Klemm and I who realize our years are numbered to be able to hunt behind a pup like that is indescribable.

Christmas eve hunt at McKean's Farm with Joe & Trace Reynolds from Jackson.
VW Sadie (10 months) was locked down on this bird and provide a fun Christmas hunt gift from his mother/dad's better half. Birds had their track shoes on this morning and got them into points.
We harvested 8 birds over the VW dogs.
