We have rat babies on the way!
I've been meaning to take pictures of mom to post, but things have been busy around here. Our mama that is expecting is Petunia, our double rex girl. This means all babies will be rex! We are unsure if mama is velveteen as well, as it is in the lines of the breeder we got her from but difficult to tell on top of rex sometimes.
We will post updates once the babies arrive!
For the adopters of the current rat litters, I will be reaching out in the next couple days to schedule pick ups. I'm so sorry for the delay, we had to put one of our dogs down on Friday afternoon so it put a bit of a stall on things. I expect pick ups to take place between 8/10 - 8/18. I appreciate your patience while I take some time to myself ❤️

We hope to get photos of all of the babies in the next few days. Once we do, the adopters taking part in the pre-reservation will pick their babies first, and then all remaining babies will be posted for open reserve.
We have standard coat and rexoid coats (velveteen, rex, or teddy) in this group of babies! Teddy is a mix of both velveteen and rex. It can be difficult to differentiate between rex and velveteen, but both are adorable!

Within few weeks, our two litters of rat babies will be ready for reserve. One of the litters includes 4 female white babies with pink eyes (they all have dumbo ears!) Unfortunately, these babies are often overlooked for babies with more color, special coat types, etc.
In order to ensure that these babies have the best chance at finding love, we would like to offer an incentive to adopters that want to provide one (or more) of the white babies a loving home. Not only will the price be discounted, adopters of these babies will have the opportunity to pick from the rest of the babies before they go up for public reserve.
If you are interested, please reach out to us! The official reservations won't take place for a few weeks; however, you will be put on a list and we will reach out to you so that you can choose your other rat(s) prior to posting them on the website as available. Please remember that rats must be adopted in pairs or more, so you must choose at least one additional baby to come home with the pink-eyed white baby!
Please note that this information only applies to adopters interested in at least one of the white babies. Regular reservations for all remaining babies will be posted around 5-6 weeks of age as usual.

They did not appreciate the bright light in my light box, lol.

Our other rat mama, Winter (blue point siamese) gave birth late in the day yesterday too!
Mist, our marble girl, had her babies! She was paired to Smokey, our black variegated silvermane rex male.
A few are a bit on the smaller side but all of the babies have milk bands and mama is doing well. It looks like we have plenty of rex babies in the litter and females outweigh the males.
We are expecting babies from both of these pretty ladies in the coming days!

We will likely keep one of these babies here with us, but we expect the other 5 to be available once they get a bit older.

Our baby hamsters are over a week old and they are adorable!
Our first litter of Syrian Hamsters was born today! We don't have an official count as we will leave mom alone for a while, but it looks like at least 5 or 6 babies from what we could see.
With the arrival of our first hamster babies we would like to take time to share our goal for the hamsters. Just like with the rats, we want to raise hamsters with good temperaments. Hamsters and hamster breeding is much different than rats and mice and in general, hamsters do take more hand taming and socializing. Hamsters haven't been bred in captivity as long and many breeders do not breed for temperament but rather they strive for pretty colors and patterns. Though pretty colors are certainly a plus, our main goal with breeding hamsters is to work on genetic temperament and help to improve the species as a whole. A hamster with a good temperament makes a very fun and rewarding pet!
We are so excited about the beginning of our hamster journey and can't wait to share the babies as they grow!
We have been meaning to introduce this guy for a while now. This is Neo, our werewolf rat. He came to us from MKT Reptiles & Rattery in the later part of last year. We plan to integrate him into our breeding schedule in the somewhat near future!
Werewolf rats are so unique! They molt and their patten changes about every week or so.

We have officially made our first Syrian hamster pairing!
Cola and Truffle were successfully paired yesterday, so if all goes well we should have babies in 16 days 💜

Please note that most of these babies are black Marten or Russian blue Marten, and there are some Silvermane as well. Marten and silvermane both cause lightening so they may lighten in color compared to these photos.

Our baby hamsters are over a week old and they are adorable!
Just wanted to give a quick little update! We were hoping to have a litter of rat babies born and weaned prior to our human baby coming in April, but unfortunately mother nature had other plans and that won't be the case. We will make our next pairing when we feel it is an appropriate time for our family. We sure do miss having rattie babies! Our Syrian hamsters that will be our starting breeders have arrived with us, but we won't begin breeding for a few months. We hope to get some photos to introduce you to them in the coming days. They are ridiculously adorable and we can't wait to start the hamster journey!
We officially have rat babies! 🥳 They were just born yesterday and mama and babies are doing great. We will post updates as they grow.
All current babies are spoken for and will be going to their new homes in the next couple weeks! We have a litter that will be going through health and temperament checks in about 2 weeks and then will be ready. Our new residents are arriving today! We have several new beauties joining us. We aren't going to handle them too much when they first arrive in order to let them settle in, but will snap a few quick pictures while getting them set up in their new homes to give you a peek!
These babies are growing and we have a few with open eyes! A few of these babies are hold backs to continue my breeding program, but some will be available at the end of October. Located in MN. Message for more info!
