The Rosie’s Red Nose Good Samaritan Fund

Although we all love our pets, sometimes providing for their emergency care is out of reach.

Rosie’s Red Nose was founded by our Practice Manager, Jessica Miller. The Miller Family adopted a Red Nose Pitbull by the name of Rosie back in 2004. This was the family’s first pitbull and she quickly became an amazing member of the family. Rosie passed away in 2010 at the age of 16. The family wanted to start a Rescue in remembrance of Rosie. The Rescue was founded in 2011 and named Rosie’s Red Nose Rescue. Unfortunately in 2014, the Miller Family’s home and Rescue Center sustained a 4 alarm fire and everything was lost. The Miller’s were amazed at the outpouring of support for their family and pets that had sustained smoke inhalation. After the family were back on their feet, they vowed to keep the legacy of Rosie alive and started a Good Samaritan account at the Veterinary Hospital where Jessica was employed.


The Rosie’s Red Nose Good Samaritan Fund (GSF) is used to help pets in need, as determined by our Veterinary Practice Manager and Dr. Walters. Considered on a case by case basis, the GSF chooses a recipient and then helps assist with the payment to cover the costs of services and medications.

For those who benefit from the Good Samaritan Fund, we ask them to replenish the fund if and when they are back on their feet.

If you would like to make a donation, you may do so via phone or in person at the River Run Veterinary Hospital. You will receive a receipt for tax deductible purposes.
