The benefits of nail filing make it a necessity for every dog! This is why it is included with every groom as opposed to an optional add on service. Trimming alone is not enough. Dogs nails should be filed at least once a month. Long nails effect a dogs natural gait and the structure of their paw. They can be the cause of arthritis in the foot from splaying.

Sometimes grooming isn't about the picture perfect hair cut. Sometimes it's about building a relationship with a dog that doesn't trust people. A dog that is so afraid to be touched by strangers that he bites, thrashes and scratches. 3 weeks ago Brody had to be sedated to be groomed, he was matted and he is very sensitive to matting. So his hair cut is pretty wild since shaving sedated dogs means whatever you get done in about 20 minutes is what you get.
I'm a nit picker and love for every groom to look the best I can so I had a hard time bringing Brody to his owner in the lobby that day knowing that he didn't have the hair cut I would like to have given him. But his dad's face lit up when he saw him and he was so happy and said he looked so good and I almost cried!
Well Brody is on a 3 week program to get him some positive interactions with grooming to hopefully wean him off of needing to be sedated for grooming.
Today he let me give a him a good bath and even scrub between his toes! He let me brush him some and even traded me some face trimming for some cheese lol he didn't let me do his nails but he did give me his paws several times! And his dad loved his fall picture because Brody looks so happy!
